1  Feature list
The control system is built with three kinds
of modules, i.e. the main controller (U1 module)
is placed in the cabin, U3 modules are placed
at each floor and one U5 module is connected
between the U1 and U3 modules.
The software in all modules is the same in
the 7000 series as in the 4000 and 2000
series, thus making them interchangeable.
Many features are built in by default:
• Error memory  [ see page 15 ]

• Floor locking (school locking)

[ see page 8 ]

• Battery supervision  [ see pages 7, 15 ]

• Emergency light supervision

[ see page 15 ]

• Automatic lubrication of screw

(adjustable)  [ see page 12 ]
• Fire drive  [ see page 12 ]

• Arrival signal On/Off  [ see page 12 ]

• Call delay 2.5/5.0 seconds  [ see page 12 ]

• Automatic cabin light off  [ see page 12 ]

• Send cabin away from floor:

–  Open the door, push desired floor button
inside the cabin for at least 3 seconds.
–  Step outside, close the door and push the call button –
the lift will go to the floor you selected

• Backup power for emergency lowering down to the nearest floor

and keeping S3 (RM, Retiring ramp) locked when floor is school locked.
• Emergency lowering is executed by pressing any cabin destination button.
• Call buttons with error indication from the Error memory.  [ see page 7 ]

• The floor indicator can display Run time and Number of starts.  [ see page 13 ]

• Call button light is red or green.

Red light indicates an occupied mode and the lift will not respond.
The lift is occupied if:
–  the cabin is in motion,
–  a door is open
–  someone using the lift has not yet reached their destination and
  closed the door behind them
If necessary:
Reset the Lift occupied mode by pressing the Service alarm reset button

2  Initial test, 3-phase

In order to test that the phase sequence regarding 3-phase lifts is correct,
perform the following test from within the cabin:
1) Check that the Freq control DIP switch is in the off position.
2) Move the lift up or down from within the cabin.
3) At the same time, notice which one of the indicators UP or DOWN
lights up in the U1-module (main control).
4) If the lift is running in the same direction as indicated, then the 3-phase
sequence is correct – otherwise, change the 3-phase sequence.

3  Power down / Battery

When a Power down is required for a longer period of time,
switch off fuses E2 and E3.
Otherwise the battery will be discharged and may get damaged. The battery
supports the main system for approx. 7 hours if fully charged.
If it is necessary to change the battery, use only a Lead-Acid battery with a
capacity of 3.4 Ah.

4  Stop switches
The Stop switches are three bistable reed
switches: 1 (b31), X (b33) and Top (b36).
When the lift has two floors, X is not used.
The distance between magnets and switches
should be 15–20 mm (figure below).
If the distance is too short it can cause double-
click.  [ see page 15 ]

5.1  U5 Functions
Resets the Door blocking, circuit b30–b31.
A steady lit button indicates a closed curcuit. A flashing button indicates
an open circuit. Reset by pushing the button until a sound is heard (approx.
2 seconds).

Resets the Service alarm relay. If lit, see 5.4 Error alarm below.
Resets the Lift occupied mode.  [ see page 3 ]

Up and Down buttons enable manual emergency override while the lift is within
the operating zone.

The Emergency run limit swich button, in combination with the Up or Down
button, makes it possible to force the lift back into the operating zone if it has
exceeded its limits, i.e. gone too far up or down. Exceeded limit is indicated by
*  LED indicator
flashing Emergency run limit button when Up or Down button is pushed.

In order to test the friction keep the Friction test button pressed down. The lift
will move down for approx. 2 seconds followed by a motor stop with open
brakes – thus leaving the cabin to stop shortly by itself due to screw friction.

+ You can activate a Call from another floor (above or below):

• Keep the Service alarm reset button pressed down and
• push either Up or Down button – a call will be made.

5.3  Remote service box/panel

A remote control panel (mainly 4000-series) is

connected to 6 U5.6.
For funtions see 5.1 U5 Connections above.

5.4  Error alarm (R1)

If an error occurs, rendering the lift out of order, an error alarm will be
activated.
When the Error alarm is activated, it lights up the “Service alarm
reset” button, pulls the output on Error relay R1 and makes all
call buttons flash green.
The Error alarm is activated if:
1 Emergency light is lit – 230 V current down
2 Battery error (Error memory 2:1–2:3)
3 Emergency alarm relay is activated
4 Friction test is activated (Error memory 3:5)

2. Maintenance instructions

2.1 Inspection intervals

A lift within the 7000-series must be serviced within 6 months of installation and twice a
year thereafter. If the usage is high (more than 20 starts per day in an average) it should
be four times a year.

2.2 User maintenance

Routine care of your lift involves little more than keeping it clean.
Switch off the mains power supply and:
1. Wipe away dirt; using a mild detergent solution and a just-damp cloth.
2. Use an automotive paint cleaner to remove any stubborn streak marks on the paint
work, and then apply an automotive hard silicone wax, to give a protective finish.

CAUTION
Ensure handrails, door handles, ramps and other such parts are not waxed.

Typical items to be checked to ensure that they are in place, undamaged and
functioning correctly, are:
• doors and locks
• stopping accuracy
• safety edges

2.6 Lubrication instruction
In order to make sure that the lift works properly, it is necessary to lubricate the
following parts:
• lifting screw with oil
Recommended oil: Lubricating oil, part number: 64 062-3

If necessary also lubricate the following:

• door hinges
• locking arms
• locks

N.B. We do not recommend lubricating the guides unless the lift is used frequently. If
the usage of the lift is high (more than 20 starts per day in an average) lubricate
the guides thinly on the inside.
Lifts within the 7000-series are delivered with manual lubrication as a standard, See
“Manual lubrication” on page 9. Lifts within the 7000-series can as an option also be
delivered with automatic lubrication, See “Automatic lubrication” on page 10.

8 7000 300 en 00

2.6.1 Manual lubrication

Standard lifts within the 7000-series are delivered with the manual lubrication system.
When the lift has got this system, please do the following check twice a year:
• Fill the container in the pit (See Figure 2-4). The oil level shall be up to a level of 10
mm.

N.B. Make sure that the oil level is up to 10 mm and not above. To much oil in the
container can result in oil residue in the shaft and on belts.

Figure 2-4. Oil container

N.B. When the lift is under operation the oil in the container is picked up and
distributed along the screw. Therefore there might be less oil in the container
under operation. If this is the case, use the lift and listen and feel if there is any oil
on the screw. A visual inspection can also be made by removing the middle panel
and driving the lift up and down. If there is 2 cm of oil residue according to Figure
2-5 on the screw, there is enough oil.

2 cm

Figure 2-5. Oil residue

7000 300 en 00 9
• Drive the platform down to the lowest level.
• Switch off the mains isolator.
• Dismantle the middle panel on the platform side wall.
• Adjust the lubricating roller to ensure it dips into the oil when the platform is at the
lowest position and that it rolls on the drive screw when the platform is travelling.
• Replace the middle panel.

2.6.2 Automatic lubrication

The lift can also have an ‘automatic lubrication system’, which is placed at the top of the
mast. When the lift has got this system, please do the following check twice a year:
• Check if the container is clean (See Figure 2-6).

Figure 2-6. Clean oil container

• Make sure the line is free, so the oil is able to go the screw and that the hose is
flushed against the screw (See Figure 2-7).

Figure 2-7. Free line

10 7000 300 en 00

• Fill the plastic container in the top of the mast with oil (max. capacity box is 1 litre =
1 year supply). See Figure 2-8. Fill the container with oil until it is 1 centimetre left
to the edge of the container, see pos 1/Figure 2-8.

Factory default is 40% driving time. That is, oil is lubricating the screw 40% of the time.
40 % is a good setting for normal conditions. Normal use is 20-30 rides per day with a
lift installed inside. However is the lift more frequently used or if the lift is outside in a
warm or a cold climate the lubrication must be adapted.

7000 300 en 00 11
High usage and high temperature = low settings
Low usage and low temperature = high setting.

The system also oils the screw for 30 seconds when the lift has not been used after 24
hours.
• Clean the container at the bottom of the pit. Please make sure that the old oil is
disposed according to the local disposal rules.
• Clean the area besides the box and back wall.

returning them, recycling them or environmentally friendly ways of processing the
materials.
Spent products should be taken out of service in an environmentally correct manner
according to the following instructions.
When discarding used equipment a great deal of material and the energy content of the
material can, after sorting and cleaning, be recycled. The degree of material that can be
recycled varies depending on the technical resources and experience available in
respective countries.
Non-recyclable components, such as oil and battery, shall be left at an approved
recycling centre for destruction or disposal.

2. Quality / Safety Features
Your platform lift is designed for the maximum convenience of the users in public and
private buildings.
You, as user of the platform lift, are at all times fully responsible for the fulfilment of the
locally applicable safety regulations and guidelines.

2.1 Safety features

DANGER
NEVER use the lift in the event of a fire, unless so directed by the emergency
services.

WARNING
Do not allow anyone to play on or with the lift.

The lift incorporates many safety features including:

• Pressure sensitive safety edges on the platform edges and the top of the platform
control panel. These will stop the platform should an obstruction be encountered.
When the lift has stopped you can either remove the obstructing item yourself or
call for assistance from someone outside the lift.
• The doors are automatically locked when the platform is between floor levels.
• From inside the platform - Constant pressure controls, hold to run, that stop the lift
when pressure is not maintained or the lift has reached the correct floor level.
• From outside the platform - the lift will arrive and stop automatically when you have
pressed the call button.
• Emergency stop button on platform control panel.
• On-board alarm button which can be connected to an external bell or automatic
telephone dialler.
• A mechanical and electrical blocking device situated in the pit. The blocking
device will stop the platform lift when pulled out before entering the pit.

6 7000 200 en 01

Please note the following:

• It is important that someone is available external to the lift to carry out any
emergency procedure should this become necessary. This assistance can best be
summoned using the alarm button.
• Other building users should be made aware of the need to leave the landing areas
clear to enable the doors to open without obstruction and the wheelchair user to
manoeuvre easily when entering and leaving the lift. A turning circle of 1500 mm
minimum diameter is recommended at each level for this.

2.2 Safety instruction for working underneath the platform

This type of work MUST only be carried out by a competent person.

7000 200 en 01 7
3. Operation Instructions

3.1 To call the lift

1. Press the call button or use the key to call the lift adjacent to the entrance at the floor
level to be served. The lift will stop automatically at the floor level.
If the lift is equipped with school locking (optional) the door will be locked after 10
seconds, if the lift is unused. To open the door use the key call station.
2. Whilst the lift is at the landing level, the door will be unlocked allowing access to
the platform. If the lift is fitted with automatic door opener (optional) the door will
open once the call button is pressed.

3.2 To operate the lift from the platform controls

The platform control panel consist of:
• Floor destination buttons
• Alarm button
• Emergency stop button
• Overload signal (signals when lift is overloaded).
• Automatic emergency dialler
• Telephone
The back wall light illuminates all buttons.
1. The user should access the platform and wait for the door to close.
The automatic door opener (optional) will close the door following a time delay or
once a button requesting a different floor has been pressed.
2. If the lift is equipped with school locking (optional) the door will be locked after 10
seconds. To open the door again the user should press the present floor destination
button (e.g. you are at ground floor then press 1).
3. Constant pressure should be applied to the chosen floor destination button on the
control panel until the lift stops automatically at that floor level.
4. Once the lift reaches the chosen floor level, the door is unlocked allowing exit from
the platform. The automatic door opener (optional) will open once the lift arrives at
that floor level.
5. To summon assistance the alarm button should be pressed at least 10 seconds.
When the yellow alarm button is pressed a buzzer sounds. This is only a signal to
the user that the button is pressed.
6. The alarm button may be connected to an external bell or an automatic emergency
dialler. The external bell will warn, as long as the alarm button is pressed, the
direct environment surrounding the lift that something is wrong. The automatic
emergency dialler will dial after 10 seconds a pre-set phone number in order to get
help.

8 7000 200 en 01

7. Furthermore, the customer can use the telephone to summon assistance in case of
an emergency. It is not necessary to press the alarm button in order to use the
telephone.
8. Should the lift operation not cease when pressure is removed from all control
buttons then the emergency stop button should be pressed. This will lock down and
stop the lift operation. To reset this button turn it clockwise until the head returns to
the upper position. After such an event the lift should be checked by a competent
person.

7000 200 en 01 9
4. Care and Maintenance

4.1 Inspection intervals

Your lift must be serviced within 6 months of installation and twice a year thereafter. If
the usage is high (more than 20 starts per day in an average) it should be four times a
year.
Besides keeping the lift in first class condition - ensuring that it continues to comply with
the latest regulations - your service provider can identify parts which may soon need
replacing.
Thus adding to the quality of life of the user by helping to prevent breakdowns.
For further information, contact your authorised supplier.

4.2 User maintenance

• cover panels
• push buttons or key control on platform
• push buttons or key control on call station
• automatic door opener (optional)
• automatic emergency dialler. Two-way means of communication in the car which
provides permanent contact with a rescue service
• alarm function

10 7000 200 en 01

• normal lighting
• safety signs/pictograms.
Ensure that:
• The entrances are kept free of any obstruction.
• No-one overloads or otherwise misuses the lift.
• Any damaged or missing notices are replaced immediately.

7000 200 en 01 11
5. Simple Fault Finding
Should the platform not work, check the following things:
1. Emergency stop buttons on the control panel should not be pushed in (turn the
buttons clockwise to deactivate).
2. The doors are closed and the door contacts are undamaged and clean.
3. That the power is not switched off.
4. The safety edge around the platform floor and above the control panel is not stuck
in a pressed position.
If the lift fails to work after you have completed these checks then you should arrange
for a competent person to rectify the lift.

12 7000 200 en 01

6. Emergency Procedures
All emergency procedures on the lift shall be performed by a competent person.

6.1 Power failure

In case of power failure for lifts equipped with the emergency lowering feature, the lift
will automatically go to back-up battery operation and the lift will travel to the nearest
lower level when you push the destination or call button. When the lift has arrived to its
destination the door will be unlocked. All push-buttons functions remain if the lift
security equipment are functioning. The light and the alarm button system has an
emergency battery backup which allows it to function in the event of a power failure.
The lift will automatically go back to main power without reset after the failure.
If not call for a competent person.

6.2 Emergency lowering of the platform

Contact a competent person for help.

6.3 Emergency opening of doors

Contact a competent person for help.

6.4 Obtaining service

Aritco offers a way in which our expert engineers can keep your lift in first class
working order.
In the unlikely event that your lift needs attention between service visits, you can report
the fault by telephoning your supplier.
Your supplier will ask for details of the problem - plus the following information:
