Membership services represent the bedrock of the overall CII agenda. Over
the years, CII has evolved a wide-ranging portfolio of Member Services, based
on continuous dialogue and feedback, tailored to the needs of Members on
an ongoing basis. CII offers a dynamic and wide range of service portfolio for
the benefit of members.
Policy advocacy, which is a core activity of CII involves taking up economic,
trade, sectoral and state level policies with Central and State Governments.
Business Development & International services of CII helps create networking
platforms through sectoral business promotion activities across major industry
and services sectors, both within the country and for overseas markets.
As a priority agenda, CII assists Member organisation in Community Development by assisting industry
to identify and execute corporate citizenship programmes.
CII delivers its Member Services through diverse formats. This includes nearly 500 membership forums
supported by a network of 62 offices in India, 8 overseas offices with 1000+ Secretariat, more than 70
Sectoral Councils & Committees, 10 Centres of Excellence located across the country are specialized
institutions for providing training, advisory and consultancy services for enhancing competitiveness in
quality, energy, green business, sustainability, logistics, food & agriculture, water, leadership and MSME
competitiveness, 2 Technology Development Centres for aiding technology transfer & development and

The Online Business Resource Centre of CII - myCII delivers wide range of services to Members through
online portal www.mycii.in, including information alerts on business opportunities, Government policies,
investments, research reports, etc. This enables Members to keep informed about the latest trends in
the market and the economy, prepare themselves to meet the future challenges, and take advantage

Global Outreach
CII endeavors to increase the integration of Indian industry with the world economy and helps Indian
industry to go global by providing advisory services to the industry on all issues related to International
trade. CII undertakes research and analysis on areas related to the ongoing negotiations at the World Trade
Organization (WTO), bilateral and regional Free Trade Agreement (FTA) negotiations, foreign trade policy
and other related issues. CII works very closely with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government
of India and serves as the first point of contact on all trade related issues. By adopting a proactive and
a partnership approach with the Government, on various issues related to Indian exporters, CII helps
industry explore newer markets and opportunities. CII International works under the overall supervision
of International Policy Council. It comprises of members and experts on international trade policy issues.
CII international undertakes activities to connect Indian business with global business. Such activities
include meeting the Heads of State and Government, decision-makers, networking with counterpart
organisations, multilateral and academic institutions and other policy making bodies. The set-up of 8
overseas offices helps CII to disseminate vital information related to markets and joint venture possibilities
to Indian and foreign companies. International events are organised as a part of its global business
networking initiatives. This is supplemented by institutional partnerships with 394 counterpart organizations
in 133 countries. Trade fairs, seminars, overseas missions, and conferences also develop strong connects.

To transform water conservation and management in India by changing the mindset and behaviour
of stakeholders resulting in more effective and sustainable water management practices at the grass
root level. Guided by an Advisory Board comprising of members of National and International repute,
the Institute has developed strong internal governance mechanisms that provide clear directions to its
operations, partnership development, and management.
Emerging technologies such as deep-tech which have a longer gestation period are slowing and steadily
seeing an increase in investments.

CII recognises Start-ups as the engine of economic growth. CII has put in place a robust framework at
the National, Regional & State Levels to promote Innovation and support Start-ups.
CII launched its 10th Centre of Excellence on Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Start-ups - CII
CIES. The Centre is based in Hyderabad, Telangana and is supported by the Govt. of Telangana and
Pratiksha Trust. The centre works towards creating a robust entrepreneurial ecosystem in the country.
The centre works with all the key startup ecosystem stakeholders like Incubators, Accelerators, Govern-
ment, Investment Networks, Enterprises, Startups and Academia to increase their odds of success by
running targeted intervention programs
– Corporate Acceleration Programs – The centre is running organisation specific, time bound
customized acceleration programs for helping corporates to leverage innovation by startups
– CII Startup Mentor Club – CII Startup Mentor Club network is established as a pan-India
initiative to support entrepreneurs and their company’s growth through targeted interventions by
assessing their needs and matching them with Industry members who are seasoned entrepreneurs,
executives and functional experts across different Sectors, currently we have 300+ mentors and
counting who are engaging startups
– CII ICONN- To promote the Corporate – Startup cooperation, a special CII initiative titled ICONN,
the Industry Startup Connect Programme was conceptualised and launched in 2021. ICONN,
a first of its kind, Industry-led 360-degree initiative, will catalyse strategic interactions between
the Corporate sector and startups as well as other key stakeholders to create an integrated,
inclusive, and vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem in the country.
This high-energy, year-long virtual exercise starting from this month till December 2022 will span
five distinct platforms dedicated to connecting businesses, investors, incubators, accelerators,
and various Government organisations, not just with startups but also with each other. ICONN
will to showcase innovations by startups in various sectors of the economy, Incubators will
showcase their support services, State Governments will pitch to Investors, Industries, Startups,
Corporates and Startups will explore collaborations, B2B opportunities.

ICONN Platforms
a) SITCONN: This Sectoral Connect Platform will feature 20 sectoral interactions between
Startups and Corporates. Over 1000 Indian corporates are expected to connect with Startups
through SITCONN.
b) INTERCONN: The Industry-facing platform would enable State Governments looking to
attract entrepreneurs and corporate investors into their State. It is expected that 15+ State
Governments will present their policies and programmes for startups and entrepreneurs at
this platform.
c) UNICONN: This is a series of national multi-stakeholder sessions to shape a vibrant
entrepreneurial ecosystem on topics which are sector and geography agnostic such as
reforms for accelerating domestic investments in startups and promoting social ventures. The
objective of the UNICONN is to enable policy reforms through dialogue with stakeholders.
d) BICONN: The bilateral connect platform will take Indian entrepreneurs to the global stage,
thereby provide access to global markets as well as facilitate funding.
e) INNODROME: A virtual exhibition space for startups, incubators, accelerators and investors to
showcase their innovation and services. Startups will be provided with a virtual stall, accessible
24x7 from across the world. Startups will be able to gather meaningful data on their visitor profile.
Visitors will be able to connect with the exhibitor through B2B meeting. ICONN will also enable
Corporates to showcase their startup programme and thereby attract startups to join them.
– Startupreneur Awards - CII put into action its novel concept of providing the essential ‘Corporate
Connect’ to start-ups. The concept is based on the premise that when a large corporate house
adopts a start-up which is working in its own area or allied areas of business, then it results in a
win-win for both. Start-ups get nurturing support – knowledge inputs – as well finances from the
corporate. They develop products or services which cater to the needs of the large corporate,
become part of the supply chain or devise newer technologies for better efficiency and productivity.
TECHNOLOGY SERVICES
Technology is one of the thrust areas of CII along with other key areas such as Quality, Energy and
Environment etc. The primary focus is to bring technology to centre stage and make it as a movement
in the Indian Industry to enhance technology competitiveness. CII Technology Division is equipped with
highly experienced professionals & networked with a large number of professional institutions and experts
in the country and overseas. The Division works in tandem with Indian industry to develop & promote
innovative technologies and to establish the right linkages for successful technology absorption and
commercialisation. The CII Technology services are offered through institutional partnerships, various
forum, startup ecosystem and conventions.

The Centre has so far facilitated filing of more than 200 patents, 1000 TMs, 1500 Designs, 70 copyrights
and 30 GI’s. Through capacity building, the Centre has supported more than 5000 stakeholders through
200 IP programs.
The Centre has dedicated team of in-house IP experts. It provides single window quality service on all
types of IP services in a cost-effective manner. The Centre offers following services:

CII under the aegis of CII National Committee on Skill Development & Livelihood has been working on
the skills agenda since 1987 towards collaborating, aggregating and consolidating all efforts between the
stakeholders to augment the efforts of the Government of India in the form of promotion & advocacy,
research, studies, PPP Models, assessments and CII’s own on-ground initiatives. CII Skill Development
and Livelihood vertical impacts over one million youth annually.

The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) works to create and sustain an environment conducive to the
development of India, partnering Industry, Government and civil society, through advisory and consultative
processes.
CII is a non-government, not-for-profit, industry-led and industry-managed organization, with over 9000
members from the private as well as public sectors, including SMEs and MNCs, and an indirect membership
of over 300,000 enterprises from 294 national and regional sectoral industry bodies.
For more than 125 years, CII has been engaged in shaping India’s development journey and works
proactively on transforming Indian Industry’s engagement in national development. CII charts change
by working closely with Government on policy issues, interfacing with thought leaders, and enhancing
efficiency, competitiveness and business opportunities for industry through a range of specialized services
and strategic global linkages. It also provides a platform for consensus-building and networking on key
issues.
Extending its agenda beyond business, CII assists industry to identify and execute corporate citizenship
programmes. Partnerships with civil society organizations carry forward corporate initiatives for integrated
and inclusive development across diverse domains including affirmative action, livelihoods, diversity
management, skill development, empowerment of women, and sustainable development, to name a few.
As India marches towards its 75th year of Independence in 2022, CII, with the Theme for 2021-22 as
Building India for a New World: Competitiveness, Growth, Sustainability, Technology, rededicates
itself to meeting the aspirations of citizens for a morally, economically and technologically advanced
country in partnership with the Government, Industry and all stakeholders.
With 62 offices, including 10 Centres of Excellence, in India, and 8 overseas offices in Australia, Egypt,
Germany, Indonesia, Singapore, UAE, UK, and USA, as well as institutional partnerships with 394
counterpart organizations in 133 countries, CII serves as a reference point for Indian industry and the
international business community.
