Bit2307 Geographic Information Systems

This document provides an examination for a Geographic Information Systems course, with 5 questions testing various concepts: 1) The first question defines key geographic concepts, benefits of electronic maps over paper maps, the role of human factors in GIS development, and major GIS functions. 2) The second question covers projections and their importance, vector data models and their advantages/limitations. 3) The third concerns raster file extensions, spatial referencing, and distinguishing primary/secondary data sources. 4) Question four is about the quadtree structure for raster data and simplifying real world entities for 2D modeling. 5) The last addresses remote sensing technologies, digital terrain models, modeling the fourth
