So, let’s proceed to our main topic:

Sir its

Basic Computer Operations

Will you please all read this with loud and clear?

INPUT - Input is the data you entered into the computer using
input devices for processing. Yes sir!
Now class we will tackle the INPUT Devices.

with the computer. A computer keyboard closely resembles a (The students

objects on the computer monitor and select them.

3. Microphone – It allows the user to speak to the computer in

order to record a voice message or navigate software.

discussion.)

4. Web Camera – used in transmitting live images over the

World Wide Web.

Now class next topic is PROCESS

(The students

Memory - is closely associated with processor. As you entered

the data, the memory temporarily holds it before and after it is
processed. Memory temporarily holds the data because once
you shut down the computer, all the data, information and (The student

processing are stored. You must use the save command of the
application to save your work in a secondary device such as
hard disk.

Hard Disk - Hard disk has higher capacity compare to other

storage devices. It is more durable and expensive.

 Removable Storage Devices – devices that can be detach

External Hard Disk - Just like a hard disk, you can store a lot
of information but the only difference is that it is detachable
and can be transferred to other computer to access
information.

Other Storage Device

 Shared Network Drive – is a location in other computer where

other users from other computer are allowed to save and
access information.

The data from memory is now loaded to the Central Processing

Unit (CPU) also known as processor. Processor performs the
operation that converts the data into information. (The students

Ways to Access Information in Computer

A. Information Stored in a Computer Method 1. Manually

locate the file.

This method is applicable whether your file is stored in hard

disk, flash drive, network drive, CD/DVD or portable external
hard disk.

1. Use shortcut key Window + E to launch windows

explorer. Window + E means press and hold down first
Window key (do not release), followed by letter E key
then release both keys.

Note: Window key is a key in your keyboard with this logo

Point your mouse and double click to the drive (drive C, D, E for
example) where you store your file.

4. In the search box, type the topic you want to search

then press Enter.

on the result you want to open.

OUTPUT Devices

Output is the result produced by the processor. Output is

usable information and it can be in the form of numbers, words,
graphs, charts.

As you enter the data or after the data has been processed, you
will see the result through computer monitor, which is
considered as primary output device.

Computer wait for the user to enter data. This data will be used
by the computer to process and later produce an output. Data
can be in the form of text, numbers, audio, images and video,
therefore different input devices are needed to accept data to
be processed.

I will read it for you, listen carefully.

Computer Display Monitor - An output device that displays

information in visual form, using text and graphics.

Monitor is like the television of the computer, it displays what

we do in the computer itself. It is the screen of our smart
phones.

Engagement
Very good! Now, we can have our recitation.

D. What I can do?

Assimilation
Get one half sheet of pad paper and answer this question:
1. Enumerate Output and Input devices used in computer.
