Why I want to be a nurse

There are many reasons why someone might want to become a nurse. For me, it has

always been about helping people and making a difference in their lives. I come from a military

family, so I have always been aware of the importance of service and helping others (Baker and

Maureen, 96). When I was in high school, I took a CNA course and found a passion for helping

my community. As a nurse, I would be able to directly impact the lives of my patients. I would

be able to help them through some of the most difficult times in their lives and be there for them

when they need someone the most. I would also be able to work with a variety of different

people, from young children to the elderly. This would allow me to get to know a wide range of

people and learn about their different cultures and backgrounds.

I love seeing the difference I could make in people's lives, and it makes me want to make

this my career. Nursing is a challenging field, but that is what I love about it (Baker and Maureen,

96). I am constantly challenged on a daily basis, and I know that I am making a difference in

people's lives. I feel very accomplished when I know that I have helped someone else. I am

hoping to be the change and difference in many people's lives. I believe that nursing is a career

that is not for everybody, but I have always known that it is the right fit for me.

Finally, I have always wanted to help people, and becoming a nurse will allow me to do

just that. Every day, I will be able to make a difference in someone's life (Kutzin and Jared, 476). I

will be able to comfort them when they are sick or injured, and help them get back on their feet. I

will also be able to educate patients and their families about their health, and help them make

informed decisions about their care. I believe that nursing is a calling, and I am excited to

answer it.
