5 CONSTRUCTION METHODS
Preparation
- Take measurements in the field according to the shop drawing approved by the Technical
Board of Directors and the Supervisory Consultant.
- Measurements will be carried out based on baseline data and fixed points (bench marks) of
the existing basic framework to be followed by the installation of additional bench marks
that will be used for polygon measurements, flat measurements, detailed situation
measurements and staking out to get the position of elevation measurement, boundary of
benching platform of works according to the construction planed and the tools used in the
measurement process consist of theodolite and waterpass.
- Material Retaning Wall approval must have obtained approval from Technical Board of
Directors and the Supervisory Consultant.
Shop Drawing
Compare based on the shop drawing to actual site condition and ensure measurements
within tolerable deviation.

Implementation
- Retaining Wall
› Take measurements in the field according to the shop drawing approved by the Technical
Board of Directors and the Supervisory Consultant.
› Material Retaining Wall must have obtained approval from Technical Board of Directors
and the Supervisory Consultant.
› Preparatory work is studying shop drawings to find out the position and dimensions of
the Retaining Wall Type.
› the next step is preparation of profiles (marking stakes) as a reference for the
implementation required for work is carried out to elevation measurement and
boundary of benching platformand.
› The Retaining Wall area will be inspected and checked against elevation measurements
and will aprroved by the Technical Board of Directors to be able to continue the next step
of work.
› Excavation work for the Retaining Wall can be carried out properly, so that auxiliary yarns
will be installed, namely auxiliary yarns to keep the work path locked.
› Excavation of the retaining wall is carried out carefully and must know the length, width
and depth of the retaining wall up to the subbase for replacement of soil, limestone and
sand bending.
› The results of the excavation for retaining wall are placed around the excavation in a
place that does not interfere with other work, because a part excavated soil will be
reused for backfill.
› Excavations that are not used will be moved to a disposal location that has been
determined together.

Location : GIIC Block AE No. 1 Page No. : 4 of 6
› Temporary shoring structures that might needed to secure during Retaining wall
construction will be use Steel sheet pile or other shoring that has been determined
together and approved together.
› For several types of retaining walls where soil replacement (according Technical
Specification) then the soil will be excavated and the results of the excavation will be
moved to a location that has been determined together.
› The next process is compacted the Subgrade with a vibrator roller until the compaction
reaches CBR > 5% and soil replacement until the compaction reaches CBR > 10% and will
aprroved by the Technical Board of Directors.
› Implementation of Subgrade with required elevation measurement, boundary of
benching platform will be checked and review together and will aprroved by the
Technical Board of Directors.
› the next step is preparation of profiles (marking stakes) as a reference for the
implementation required for work is carried out to elevation measurement and
boundary of benching platformand.
› Limestone has been delivered to working area using a dump truck, after that spread the
limestones with a thickness of 550 mm and carried out using an excavator and bulldozer.
› Compacted the Limestone with a vibrator roller until the compaction reaches CBR > 30%
and will aprroved by the Technical Board of Directors.
› Limestone areas will be inspected and checked against elevation measurement and will
aprroved by the Technical Board of Directors.
› the next step is preparation of profiles (marking stakes) as a reference for the
implementation required for work is carried out to elevation measurement and
boundary of benching platformand.
› Sand material has been delivered to working area using a dump truck, after that spread
the sand with a thickness of 100 mm and carried out using an excavator.
› The next process is to compact the sand layer with works equipment and the compaction
work is carried out in stages until it is really quite solid and will aprroved by the Technical
Board of Directors.
› Sand Bending areas will be inspected and checked against elevation measurement and
will aprroved by the Technical Board of Directors.
› the next step is preparation of profiles (marking stakes) as a reference for the
implementation required for work is carried out to elevation measurement and
boundary of benching platformand.
› the installation of the formwork will be carried out.
› Lean Concrete has been delivered to working area using a truck mixer, after that spread
the concrete with a thickness of 50 mm.
› The next process is to compact the concrete with concrete vibrator.
› After the concrete is finished, it will be treated using water until the time that has been
determined together.
› Lean Concrete will be inspected and checked against elevation measurement and will
aprroved by the Technical Board of Directors.
› The concrete used will be tested for its strength ( at Batching plant Supllier) at the age of
7, 14 and 28 days
› the next step is preparation of profiles (marking stakes) as a reference for the
implementation required for work is carried out to elevation measurement and
boundary of benching platformand.
› Rebar and formwork will be produced according to what is needed and will be installed

› Rebar and formwork will be inspected and checked against elevation measurement and
will aprroved by the Technical Board of Directors.
› if any water ponding that might be occurred within the localized excavated area at
Retaining Wall it will be dried first with water pump (if needed) or other dried concept
that has been determined together and approved together.
› Retaining Wall will be implemented in 2 stages, first stage are the footing and next stage
are the wall.
› Concrete Fc'40 has been delivered to working area using a truck mixer, after that spread
the concrete.
› The next process is to compact the concrete with concrete vibrator.
› After the concrete is finished, it will be treated using water until the time that has been
determined together.
› Concrete Fc'40 area will be inspected and checked against elevation measurement and
will aprroved by the Technical Board of Directors.
› The concrete used will be tested for its strength ( at Batching plant Supllier) at the age of
7, 14 and 28 days
› After reaching the agreed concrete age, the formwork will be relese and moved.
› the next step is preparation of profiles (marking stakes) as a reference for the
implementation required for work is carried out to elevation measurement and
boundary of benching platformand.
› Subdrain work will be carried out starting from the installation of geotextiles, perforated
PVC pipe type D and granular 30 mm.
› Backfill and Subdrain work will be carried out simultaneously
› The next process is compacted the Backfill with a vibrator roller until the compaction
reaches CBR > 5% and will aprroved by the Technical Board of Directors.
› Implementation of Retaining Wall and Subdrain with required elevation measurement,
boundary of benching platform will be checked and review together to find out elevation
measurement, boundary of benching platform of works that has been done and
completed at the time / day was has been determined together and will aprroved by the
Technical Board of Directors.
