Univar Heavy Duty Antifreeze
Univar HDA is a phosphate free ethylene glycol coolant concentrate, based on low silicate technology in
combination with nitrite and molybdate, which meets the requirements of ASTM D6210, D3306, D4985
and TMC RP329.
Univar HDA is also compatible with most other coolants based on ethylene glycol, exclusive use is
however recommended for optimum corrosion protection and inhibitor stability. This coolant is
compatible with most European hard tap waters, however the use of soft water is recommended.
A 33-50% volume / volume aqueous solution will function both as antifreeze and coolant and impart
very good corrosion protection to all cooling system metals and alloys found in internal combustion
engines.

Simulated service test (ASTM D2570)
¹ = Weight loss AFTER chemical cleaning according to ASTM procedure. Weight gain is indicated by a – sign.
² = rating 10 = No corrosion or erosion present; no metal loss. No change from original casting configuration. Staining
permitted.
Coolant Replacement
For this type of product we recommend that levels of Nitrite and Molybdate are checked on a regular
basis to ensure that OEM recommendations are being met. A variety of commercial test kits are
available on the market to monitor this. In the event that Nitrite levels fall below 800ppm we recommend
draining the fluid and refilling the system with fresh product.
