BRCL-005 Arrival Checklist

This document provides a checklist for items to be checked and prepared for upon a vessel's arrival. It contains 9 items to be checked including monitoring pilot service information, weather reports, having enough tug boats arranged, equipment prepared and tested like GPS, radar and steering systems. The checklist must be completed no more than 12 hours before entering navigable waters and abnormalities reported to the master. Upon completion, the time is to be logged stating the checks were carried out according to this procedure.

N.B: 1) ECDIS is primary means of Navigation - paper chart is back up. For dual
ECDIS - one ECDIS is back up for other with minimum paper charts.
2) This checklist shall be completed no more than 12 hours before
entering the navigable waters and before getting underway for shifting,
at every port or Canal. (The word 'underway' means that a vessel is not
at anchor, or made fast to shore, or aground).before arrival in every
ports.
3) If any abnormality is found, same to be notified to the Master.
4) Entries shall be made in the Deck Log Book stating Time and "Checks carried
out as per BRCL-005".
Maintain this checklist in a plastic card case and use chinagraph pencil or
5) white board marker.
