Detailed Lesson Plan in Teaching English III

III. Procedure:
A. Preparatory Activities
1. Drill
Reading of Tongue Twister

She sells seashells on the seashore


And the sea shells that she sells
Are the sea shells I’m sure.

2. Review
Yesterday, we discussed about Imperative sentence
and command sentence.
Who can give me an example of Imperative sentence? I ma’am
Who can give me an example of command sentence? I ma’am

3. Motivation
Class, I have here some pictures and words
All you have to do is to tack the word beside the picture

swim ride sing write eat


B. Development Activities
1. Presentation
This morning, we are going to discuss about forming
and using the past tense of irregular verbs.
a. setting of standards
For us to start, I want everybody to:
Sit properly
Keep quiet
Listen attentively
Participate in the discussion
2. Reading
( The teacher and the pupils will read the selection. By rows, and the whole class)

Yesterday, I woke up at 7 o’clock


I ate toast and jam for breakfast
Then I went to School
After School, I came home
In the evening I watched tv
And I did my homework
And I read books
For dinner I ate pasta
I went to bed and I slept all night.

3. Comprehension Check-up
( The teacher will ask questions about the selection
1. What time did the boy wake up?
2. What did he eat?
3. What did he do when he come home?
4. What did he eat during dinner?

-Do you know what are verbs? - verbs are action words
-What have you notice with the spelling of the
underline words in the first column to the second,
Did their spelling change? -Yes ma’am, the spelling is change
-What do you think why the spelling is change in the
second column? -because in the first column the actions are happen
in the present, while, in the second column the
actions are happen in the past.
-what do we call these verbs? -expected answer

( Class, there are two kinds of verbs, the regular verbs and irregular verbs. The regular verbs will
form their past tense by adding d and ed but the irregular verbs will form their past tense by
changing their spelling.)

- So how do we form the past tense of irregular
