NARRATIVE REPORT ON SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY

Luna-Rang-Ayan Elementary School held the 2nd General Assembly on Friday,

February 24, 2023. It was called to order at exactly 8:00 in the morning. It started with the
singing of the Philippine National Anthem conducted by Mrs. Emy Barut. It was followed by
a prayer lead by Mrs. Jeneca Mae Dagdag. To formally open the assembly, the emcee, Ms.
Lady Allyson C. Lubong introduced and called Mrs. Melanie G. Agustin, the school head of
LRES, to give a short but remarkable welcoming message to everyone.
Mrs. Agustin proceeded to mention the agenda of the assembly. First on the list is the
State of the School Address (SOSA). She informed the pupils and parents of the DepEd’s
new agenda to resolve basic education woes, the launching of MATATAG. This was
embarked by the Vice President and Secretary of Education Sara Z. Duterte.
According to Duterte, MATATAG will have four critical components:
MAke the curriculum relevant to produce competent and job-ready, active, and responsible
citizens;
TAke steps to accelerate delivery of basic education facilities and services;
TAke good care of learners by promoting learner well-being, inclusive education, and a
positive learning environment; and
Give support to teachers to teach better.
The ever-radiant school head explained that the VP provided the specific directions
and initiatives that will comprise the four components, including improving the curriculum
by focusing on foundational skills and embedding peace competencies, building more
resilient schools and classrooms, strengthening inclusive education programs, advocating for
teachers’ additional benefits, and providing professional development programs, among
others. She urged the pupils, teachers, and stakeholders to join and support this cause.
Commendation and suggestions were provided to both pupils and parents after the
conducted Reading Assessment. Mrs. Agustin announced the positive feedback and progress
of the pupils in the literacy area. She praised the teachers’ efforts to provide Reading
Interventions and remediations to help the learners. She emphasized the need of a follow up
from the parents and guardians.
The assembly carried on with the announcement of the learners’ awards for the 2 nd
Quarter. Teachers of each class happily informed the audience of the students’ names who
were included in the honor roll. This made the parents exude with pride and joy.
The assembly went on with the induction of GPTA Officers lead by the GPTA
President, Mrs. Bernadette S. Perito. They took an oath to fulfill their duties and
responsibilities as officers.
Ms. Lubong, the ESP Coordinator, also launched the Project KKK – Kilos Kabutihan
at Kaayusan after the announcement. She presented the 12-Point Ethical Values/Behavioral
Skills for each month starting from January.
Before the general assembly concludes, Mrs. Agustin encouraged the parents to
proceed to their children’s classrooms to attend the Parent-Teacher Conference and sign the
learners’ report cards. Teachers discussed their agenda during the conference including the
induction of HRPTA Officers, GPTA fee for the construction of the school fence, as well as
the upcoming Foundation Day of LRES.
Given the fact that most parents attended the assembly and the agenda were properly
conferred without any dispute, the second general assembly was clearly a success.
