material has area of cross-section
a) 5 A
b) 2.5 A
c) 0.5 A
d) 0.20 A

5) The resistivity of a material _____________ (varies / remains constant) with a rise in

temperature.

6) A positively charged particle experiences an electric force ___________ (against /

along) the direction of the electric field.

7) When do we say that the potential difference between two points of a circuit is 1 V ?

8) What are the factors affecting the resistance of a conductor ?

ohm ?
a) ⅕ ohm
b) 10 ohm
c) 5 ohm
d) 1 ohm
10) In electric circuit two resistors of 2 ohm and 4 ohm respectively are connected in
series to a 6 V battery. The heart dissipated by th 4 ohm resistor in 5 s will be

c) 3.6×10⁶ j
d) 3.6×10⁸ j
● a. Both A and R are true and R is correct explanation of the assertion.
● b. Both A and R are true but R is not the correct explanation of the assertion.
● c. A is true R is false.
● d. A is false but R is true
● e. Both A and R are false

12) Assertion: When the length of a wire is doubled, then its resistance also gets
doubled.
Reason: The resistance of a wire is directly proportional to its length.

13) Assertion: If graph is plotted between the potential difference and the current
flowing, the graph is a straight line passing through the origin.
Reason: The current is directly proportional to the potential difference.

14) Assertion: The value of the current in the ammeter is the same, independent of its
position in the electric circuit.
Reason: In the series combination of resistors the current is the same in every part
of the circuit or the same current through each resistor.

15) Assertion: when the resistance are connected between the same two points, they
are said to be connected in parallel.
Reason: In case the resistance is to be decreased, then the individual resistances
are connected in parallel.

16) Mention the commercial unit of electric energy.

Section B
6×2=12
1) How much current will an electric bulb of resistance 1100 ohm draw from a 220:V
source? If a heater of resistance 100 ohm is connected to the same source instead of
the bulb, calculate the current drawn by heater.

2) The amount of charge passing through a cell in four second is 12 C. Find the current
supply by cell.
3) Calculate the number of electrons that would flow 16 second thought the
cross-section of a wire when 1A current flows in it.
