1. The circle, centre 𝑂, has a radius of 5 𝑐𝑚 and minor arc 𝐴𝐵 5 𝑐𝑚

subtends an angle of 68° at 𝑂. Calculate to 1 decimal place, 𝐴 𝑂

(a) The arc in 𝑐𝑚 of the minor sector 𝑂𝐴𝐵.

(b) The area in 𝑐𝑚2 , of this sector.

2. The angle of a sector 𝐴𝐾𝐵 of a circle of radius 6 cm is 230°.

Giving your answer to 1 decimal place, find

(a) the area in 𝑐𝑚2 of the sector 𝐴𝐾𝐵

(b) the length in cm of the arc 𝐴𝐾𝐵.

3. A circular card of radius 8 𝑐𝑚 has

a sector 𝐴𝑂𝐵 removed from it,

where ∠𝐴𝑂𝐵 = 60°. Calculate the perimeter,

in 𝑐𝑚 to 3 significant figures, of the remaining card.

4. 𝑂𝐴𝐵 is a sector of a circle with centre 𝑂. ∠𝐴𝑂𝐵 = 46° and arc 𝐴𝐵 = 25 𝑐𝑚.

Calculate, giving your answer to 3 significant figure,

(a) The radius in 𝑐𝑚 of the circle.

(b) The area in 𝑐𝑚2 of the sector 𝑂𝐴𝐵.

5. A quadrant of a circle has area 100 𝑚2.

6. The diagram shows a shape made from 4 identical sectors.

(b) The length in 𝑐𝑚 of the perimeter of the shape.

7. The sector area 50 𝑐𝑚2 and angle 60° is cut from a circle. Calculate to 3 significant figure,

8. A metal plate in the form of the shaded region in the figure is to be produced from a right-angled isosceles

triangle 𝐴𝐵𝐶. ∠𝐴𝐵𝐶 = 90°, 𝐴𝐵 = 𝐵𝐶 = 12 𝑐𝑚. The two parts to be removed are sectors of the circles at

𝐴 and 𝐶, each of the radius 6 𝑐𝑚. Calculate to 1 decimal place,

(a) The combined are in 𝑐𝑚2 of the two sectors.

(b) The area in 𝑐𝑚2 of the metal plate.

9. 𝑂𝑃𝑄 is a sector of a circle with centre 𝑂 and of radius 10 cm,

𝑅𝑆 is an arc of the circle with centre 𝑂.

Calculate the area, to nearest 𝑐𝑚2 of the shaded region 𝑃𝑄𝑅𝑆.

The radii of the sectors are 80 cm and 45 cm.

25. The diagram shows two circles, both with centre 𝑂.

The radius of the small circle is 3 cm and the radius of the large circle is 6 cm.

Find the value of 𝑘.
