Rd2000 Rear Panel Description

This document provides descriptions of the front and rear panels of the RD2000 digital piano. RD2000 REAR PANEL DESCRIPTION

➊ Power switch. This turns power on/off.

➋ AC IN jack. Connect power cord to this connector.

➌ USB COMPUTER port. Exchange audio and MIDI data with built-in interface. Serves
as secondary backup if dedicated audio interface fails. This requires adjustment to both
RD2000 and Mainstage settings. See “Critical / Secondary backup” section.

➍ MIDI OUT port. Connect to “MIDI IN” on audio interface via 5-pin MIDI cable to send
MIDI data.

➎ DAMPER/R pedal port. Connect to sustain pedal.

➏ FC1/L pedal port. Connect to footswitch pedal (ie. BOSS FS-5U).

➐ EXT pedal port. Connect to expression pedal (ie. BOSS FV500L).

➑ MAIN OUT L/MONO unbalanced jack. Connect to FOH as critical backup.


Alternatively, PHONES and balanced XLR jacks can be used.

➊ Mod wheel/lever. Sends MIDI CC#1 (Modulation) data for instrument effects.

➋ MASTER VOLUME knob. Adjusts overall RD2000 volume. Set knob to max, as this
affects critical backup piano volume.

➌ Zone faders. See ‘Fader / Main Panel Description’ for details.

➍ Display/Main panel. See ‘Fader / Main Panel Description’ for details.

➎ PROGRAM button. Selects a program.

Mac basic configuration


- Wi-Fi should be disabled. To change status:
- (click the Wi-Fi status menu in top-right of the menu bar.
- Turn Wi-fi on or off.
- Mainstage app is a login item, opening automatically upon system startup. To
change this setting:
- open System Settings (formerly called System Preferences)
- from the list in the left column, select General
- select Login Items
- add or remove items from list (ie. Mainstage app from within Application folder)

- always open the latest Mainstage project file, located on MacOS desktop
- archive Mainstage project files are located “Old Mainstage Files” folder
- lastest archive
Mainstage configuration

- By default, Mainstage opens the latest concert file (ie. Rent K2.3) in Perform Mode
- to exit, press Escape on Mac keyboard, or click Ⓧ in top-left corner

Mainstage | Settings | General


- Startup action is set to Open Most Recent Concert in Perform Mode
- Autosaving is set to Never

Mainstage | Settings | Audio


- Audio Output is set to desired audio interface (ie. MOTU, Radial)
- Audio Input is set to ‘None’

become unassigned or assigned incorrectly:
- click on-screen control to be assigned
- click “Assign” button in upper left area
