Procedures
Introductory ME AND MY FRIEND in action
Activity A. Divide the class into small groups.
B. Ask each group to role play a fitness activity they saw in media. The
10 mins. role play should demonstrate the following:
• Proper execution in doing an exercise.
C. Tell students to draw lessons from the role play of each group. Ask
them to write their reflections in a sheet of paper and later ask them to
share it with the class.
D. Ask them to compare and contrast the ideal exercise with their real life
situation. Share their analysis with the class.

The students in this activity will analyze and draw lessons from the film
10 mins (downloaded in the internet) or other similar materials.

Tell them to answer the following questions:


1. What can you say about the video clip?
2. What character in the video clip that you can identify yourself with?
Why?
3. What insights/ lessons you can draw from the video clip? or
4. How can you connect the video with your real life situation?

Tell students to group themselves by 5 and share their outputs with the
group members. Ask each group to consolidate its common observation
and share it with the class
Analysis Discuss meal intake and eating habits for healthier lifestyle
1. Ask learners to form a group with five to eight members.
10 mins. 2. Distribute the Daily Food intake log. Tell them to fill in their meals for
three consecutive days. Ask them to list down the components of
meals as much as possible.
3. Show them the Eating Habits Inventory.
4. Give them these instructions.
a. Encircle Y or N if you did these meal-related actions for the day
for the day.
b. For Y answers, fill out the space of a concrete action to minimize
or resolve these acts.

Copy this in your activity notebook for the next two days
Abstraction My Health Actions……
1. Analyze the results of your own health using the checklist/survey

2. Ask them the following questions:
 Are you happy with your score?
 What dimension of health is your strength?
 What dimension of health needs improvement?
 What can you do to sustain your strengths and improve your
weaknesses?
3. Let them write actions and decisions to attain a balanced health.

Application Collage Making

15 mins. In this phase, learners are expected to demonstrate understanding


through a collage of appropriate and balanced Practices/habits that can
improve one’s health.
Group learners and ask them to prepare a collage of
practices/habits using the health triangle format. The collage
Should demonstrate a clear message of a healthy person. Ask them to
think a creative title and place it on top of their collage. The group output
will be assessed using the following criteria: creativity, accuracy and
clarity of message
Assessment PowerPoint Presentation

10 mins. A. The students do simple performance tasks. They interview a person


and report their findings, propose solutions to the given problems
regarding the best thing to be physically fit to attain a healthy lifestyle,
make a PowerPoint presentation of do’s and don’ts to prevent over
lifestyle. To integrate the knowledge and skills they learn in this unit, the
students make a PowerPoint presentation of How to get fit to achieve a
healthy lifestyle.
B. Form groups of five. The materials to be used are computer with
PowerPoint program and a CD where it can be stored.
Assignment In a 1 whole sheet of paper, students will critique media information on
fitness and physical activity issues.

Concluding What would you change if you found out that what you have learned from
