DSNDB01
DSNDB04
DSNDB06
DSNDB07

USER DEFINED DATABASE AND TABLESPACE

Eg. –DIS DB(DATABASE) SPACE(TABLESPACE) - USE SYSTEM DATABASE AND TABLESPACE

Eg. –DIS DB(DATABASE) SPACE(TABLESPACE) - USE USERDEFINED DATABASE AND TABLESPACE

Eg. - DISPLAY DATABASE(dbname) SPACENAM(ts/ixname) option or

DIS DB(dbna*) SPACE(ts/ixna*) option

Options:

USE - what plans are using this object

LOCKS - what plans have locks on this object

LIMIT(*) - displays all information, 30 lines is default

RESTRICT - exception status

2. START COMMAND

Eg.START DATABASE(dbname) SPACENAM(ts/ixname) ACCESS(option)

or

STA DB(dbna*) SPACE(ts/ixna*) ACCESS(option)

Options:

ACCESS(RW) - Allows programs to read from or write to the database

ACCESS(RO) - Allows programs to only read from the database

ACCESS(UT) - Allows only DB2 utilities to access the database

ACCESS(FORCE) - Full access to data is forced; When issued, object is placed into RW, except in

the case of RESTP (Restart Pending Status)

STOP COMMAND - USE YOUR DATADASE AND TABLESPACE

Eg. STOP DATABASE(dbname) SPACENAM(ts/ixname)

or

Eg. -STO DB(dbna*) SPACE(ts/ixna*)

DISPLAY THREAD EG. -DISPLAY THREAD(connection-name) or Eg. -DIS THREAD(*) TYPE(*)

ACTIVE

INDOUBT

INACTIVE

Example:

-DIS THREAD(*) TYPE(ACTIVE)

TERM UTILITY COMMAND

Eg -TERM UTIL(utility_id) or

Eg. -TERM UTIL(ABC*)……..don’t use (*)

Example:

Eg -TERM UTIL(DB2.NOPEND)

1. DISPLAY ARCHIVE

Displays information about the specifications for archive parameters, status of allocated

dedicated tape units, volume and data set names associated with all active tape units, and

correlation ID of the requester.

2. DISPLAY BUFFERPOOL

Displays buffer pool information while DB2 is online.

3. DISPLAY DATABASE displays the status of a database.

ANS:

4.

DISPLAY DDF
Displays information about the status and configuration of the distributed data facility (DDF),

and about the connections or threads controlled by DDF.

5. DISPLAY GROUP

Displays information about the data sharing group to which a DB2 subsystem belongs

6. DISPLAY GROUPBUFFERPOOL Displays status and statistical information about DB2 group buffer
pools, which are used in a data sharing environment.
7. DISPLAY LOCATION Displays statistics about threads and conversations between remote DB2
subsystem and the local subsystem

8. DISPLAY LOG Displays the current checkpoint frequency (CHKFREQ) value, information about the
current active log data sets, and the status of the offload task.
9. DISPLAY THREAD

Displays information about DB2, distributed subsystem connections, and parallel tasks

10. DISPLAY TRACE Displays the status of DB2 traces.

11. -DIS BUFFERPOOL(ACTIVE)
12. List the steps to resolve the COPY pending status, Check pending and Recover pending.

ANS:

Step1. stop the database which is having copy pending status along with tablespace

Step2. Start the database with access force
