Panaguiton DLP

The document outlines a lesson plan about energy transformation. The lesson plan aims to teach students how energy can change from one form to another like heat transforming into light or electrical energy transforming into sound. The lesson involves engaging students with examples, presenting new material, group activities to demonstrate energy transformation, and an evaluation.

SEMI-DETAILED LESSON PLAN in SCIENCE 6

I. OBJECTIVES
A. CONTENT STANDARDS
 How energy is transformed in simple machines.
B. PERFORMANCE STANDARDS
 Create a marketing strategy for a new product on electrical or light efficiency.
C. LEARNING COMPETENCIES / OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson everyone will learn how to…

1. Infer that energy can be transformed from one form to another.

2. Demonstrate how heat can be transformed into light energy, light energy into heat, electrical energy into
sound energy.
3. Appreciate the different energy transformation.

II. CONTENT / SUBJECT MATTER

A. ENGAGEMENT (REVIEW)

Let us start by
remembering our
topic yesterday.

What was our discussion all about yesterday?

Can anyone define what is energy?

That is perfectly right.

Can you give me the different forms of energy?

(MOTIVATION)

I have here prepared a picture of a banana and a banana pie.

What did you notice from the picture?

Correct! A banana will become a banana pie if we bake it. Did

everyone notice the transformation from a banana to delicious
banana pie?

Very good! Today, we will study how energy changes from one
form to another.
(PRESENTATION of NEW LESSON)

SCIDEAS!

Let us define now what is Energy Transformation.

ENERGY TRANSFORMATION also known as ENERGY

CONVERSION is the process of changing energy from one form to
another.

ENERGY TRANSFER is the movement of energy to

another.

What are some examples of energy transformation?

1. CHEMICAL to MECHANICAL ENERGY.

-our bodies convert chemical energy in our food into
mechanical energy for us to move.
2. ELECTRICAL to KINETIC ENERGY
-an electric fan transforms
electrical energy into kinetic
energy.

Do you know now what is transformation of energy?

Are we being able to transfer heat energy to light energy,

light energy to heat energy, electrical energy to sound energy?

B. APPLICATION
(GROUP ACTIVITY)

ACTIVITY TIME!
The teacher let the learners do the different activities.

TEAM SOLID
Direction: Arrange the different energy that show different
transformation of energy.
.

TEAM GAS
Direction: Fill in the box the different energy that is being
portrayed in each situation.

A Battery is placed in a flashlight, which completes a circuit, then produces light when turned to the on
position.
CHEMICAL ELECTRICAL LIGHT
A solar panel generates electricity to fill up the battery of a mobile phone.
HEAT/THERMAL ELECTRICAL LIGHT/SOUND
A rotating turbine generates electricity to power a big speaker.
MECHANICAL ELECTRICAL SOUND
A Battery is placed in a flashlight, which completes a circuit, then produces light when turned to the on

TEAM LIQUID
Direction: Give the importance of transformation of energy in each
picture.

C. GENERALIZATION
1. Present a video that shows more energy
transformations ( video from Youtube.com)
2. Watch and discover more about energy
transformation.

D. EVALUATION
Direction: Identify the energy transformation in each
picture.
A. ASSIGNEMENT

Make a list of transformation of energy that are found

in your homes.
