Forward Movement

1) + Using only the brake ( if necessary ) to control the speed,

when moving the car slowly ( creep ) towards the ramp.
+ When reaching the ramp, the kerb will stop the car from
moving any further.
Take Note
Trainee must wait for instruction to be given before moving
the vehicle towards the ramp.

2) + Ensure that both front wheels have landed on the kerb.

+ Check for safety when getting ready for the movement.
+ Hold the steering wheel firmly with both hands. Accelerate
gradually & sufficiently to move the vehicle up the ramp.
This must be accomplished at the first attempt.
Once the vehicle is up the ramp, it has to be stopped
immediately in order to avoid hitting the Pole.

Objective :
+ Learner drivers are expected to be able to react promptly and safely during emergencies, such
as sudden surge in speed ( due to poor control of the accelerator ) , or wrongly hit the
accelerator, instead of the brake, when stopping the vehicle.

+ No acceleration is required.
Take Note
It is important to reverse the vehicle down the ramp at a
very slow speed. This is to prevent the front bumper from
hitting the ramp.
+ Completed the ‘ Forward Movement ‘ manoeuvre, trainee will
next perform the ‘ Directional Change ‘ manoeuvre.
+ Good effort must be put in when performing ‘ Directional
Change’ so as not to affect the next course of driving
