1.MS DOS AND MS- WINDOWS
Introduction
MS-DOS, developed by Microsoft, was a command-line-based operating system widely used in IBM-
compatible personal computers during the 1980s and early 1990s. It provided a text-based interface
for managing files, executing programs, and controlling computer hardware. MS-DOS's impact on the
personal computer industry was substantial, as it served as the foundation for subsequent Microsoft
operating systems and established the company as a major player in the software industry.
DOS COMMANDS
In MS-DOS, there are two types of commands: Internal and external. An internal command is
embedded into command.com file. However, an external command is not embedded into the
command.com file and therefore requires a separate file to be used.
There are some commands which is used them in MS DOS:
1. "dir" - It is used to displays the list of files and directories in the current directory.
2. "copy" - It is used to copy one or more files from one location to another.
3. "del" - It is used to deletes files or directories.
4. "format" - It is used to formats a disk, preparing it for use.
5. "ren" - It is used to renames a file or directory.
6. "type" - It is used to displays the contents of a text file.
7. "cls" - It is used to clears the screen, removing all previous commands and
output..
8. "mkdir" - It is used to creates a new directory.
9. "move" - It is used to moves files from one location to another.
10. "help" - It is used to displays a list of available MS-DOS commands and provides help
information.
11. "chdir" - Changes the current directory to a specified directory.
12. "xcopy" - Copies files and directories, including subdirectories, with additional
options.
13. "attrib" - Displays or modifies the attributes of a file or directory, such as hidden or
read-only.
14. "tree" - Displays the directory structure of a specified path or the current directory.
15. "find" - Searches for a specific text string in one or more files.
16. "echo" - Displays messages or turns command echoing on or off.
17. "date" - Displays or sets the system date.
18. "time" - Displays or sets the system time.
19. "diskpart" - Manages disk partitions and volumes.
20. "shutdown" - Shuts down the computer or restarts

Introduction
MS WORD is a software used to manipulate a text document, such as resume or a report. Working
with word processor.
Opening a new document
Changing font
• Click on home tab
• Click on arrow shown in front group in toolbar
• Select required font
• Click on ok
Resizing text
• On the ribbon, select home tab
• In the font group, click on the down arrow to open a menu of different sizes
• Select required size
Add Watermark
• For adding text watermark
• Click on the page layout
• Click on the watermark
• Chooose proper bullet in watermark
Creating Tables
• Click the insert tab on the ribbon
• Click the table button
• Select insert table
• Clicked the arrow to select the desired number of columns and rows
• Click on ok
MS EXCEL
Introduction
MS excel is an application program that contains grid of rows and columns. In a spreadsheet
application, each value sits in cell. Each Value sits in cell. Each cell contains either alphanumeric text
or numeric values.
Change layout
• Click on home tab
• Click on layout
• Click on layout you want
Slide transition
• Select the slide you want.
• Click on animation tab.
• Under the tramsition to this slide group choose an effect from the transition gallery.
• Click apply to all
• Preview the slide by using shortcut key F5.
ADOBE PHOTOSHOP
Introduction
Adobe Photoshop is the ubiquitous and industry standard graphics software for photgraohers ,
designers, and digital artists, as well as causal enthusiasts.
Opening Image
• From the file menu select open
• The open dialogue box appears
• Using the look in pull down list naviagate to the desired image
• Select the image
• Click open the image appear
Crop image
• Click on the crop tool icon
• Click and drag the cursor across the image tp frame the portion that you wish to keep
• Double click on image or hit enter key
Extracting image
• Open the image from which you wish to extract an object
• Activate the extract filter
• Use the highlighter
• Use the paint bucket fill icon and click on the inside of the highlighter area to show which
part you want to keep and then perform the extraction.
