Job Description and Responsibility

2023-2024 Fall and Spring Teaching Rules and Regulations:

Covid Prevention in campus and classroom

1. Masks are mandatory for everyone in the campus until further notice.
2. The limitation of the visitors to ensure the safety of the students and the campus.
3. Students and teachers need to stay at home if there is any sign of fever, flu like
symptoms, coughing and diarrhea to help us keeping the campus safe for everyone.

Teacher Duty and Responsibility

1. Please arrive at school on time at 2:45pm unless you have a different schedule.
2. Additional working hours will only be credited if you have talked to Amy lao shi or Liu lao shi.
3. If you need to request a day off, please give at least a week notice.
4. Please try to take the vacation during the Christmas break and the summertime.
5. Please try to avoid requesting day off if there were the same day as other teachers.
6. Please do not exchange your private contact information with any parents via email, phone
number or WeChat. Nine Fruits office will communicate parents to resolve all school and
classroom related issue.
7. Please maintain a professional relationship with all parents.
8. Participating the Fire and Earthquake Drills quarterly with all students.
9. Submitting all Nine Fruits requested paper works on time.
10. Help and support students for participating the annual North California Chinese Competition.
11. Chinese language teachers have the duty to host midterm exam and final exam in each
semester.
12. English/Math teachers have the duty to correct student’s workbook during the E/M class time
and reinforce good classroom management.

Disciple Guideline and Classroom Management:

1. Once students are in the classroom they must sit down and remain quietly.
2. At any class time, students need to raise their hands for permission to talk.
3. If students are not behaving properly, please give the followings accordingly: 1) verbal
warnings, 2) change seats, 3) time out in the classroom for 5 mins, 4) issue the Student

Detention Report and send report to the office. We will follow up with parents at the end of
day.
4. Try to give both rewards and disciplines equally and fairly.
5. Point system is 1 point max every day. There will be prize exchange at the end of each
semester.
6. Once you have set the rules, please stand by the rules the whole time. Students will then take
your words seriously.
7. If student refuse to listen to you and you are showing stressed with the situation, please notify
office right away and we will help you to solve the situation together.
8. If you need to leave the classroom for any reason (restroom, printing the paper), please find
any nearby teacher to cover your class for you. Never leave students unattended.
9. All students must ask teacher’s permission, if they need to leave the classroom for restroom,
get something in their backpack, drink water, etc.
10. Please only allow one student leave the classroom at a time, so that they don’t play or chat in
the restroom or hallway.
11. If you see any students are not behaving properly, even if they are not your students in your
class, you have the right and responsibility to stop their misbehavior.
12. Smart phone/iPhone uses for teachers are not allowed in school. Teachers shouldn’t text or
web surfing inside the school. iPad and laptops are strictly for teaching purpose only.
13. When switching the classroom, please wait outside of the classroom quietly with your
students until current class teacher and students come out from the classroom.
14. For the 5-6pm class, after students change the classroom, if the lead teacher has not yet
arrived in the classroom, please wait in the classroom until the lead teacher arrives. Never
leave students unattended.
15. If your class need any school supplies, please ask Jessie lao shi for assistance.
16. Please contact the office if you have any concern or comment, we will be there to assist you.
17. Please make sure to dress properly for a professional and suitable teaching appearance.

Campus and Classroom Safety:

1. Make sure to take attendance in each class daily.


2. When students are switching classes (4pm and 5pm), please stay with your students until the
next teacher has arrive.
3. Students should not run inside the campus at any time.
4. Make sure there is no peanuts and tree nuts snacks from students to campus.
5. Food and drinks are not allowed in any classroom. (Except A4 and Gym.) If you would like to
give children treats, please contact the office first to check the medical condition and allergy
reaction.
6. There are ice packs and Band-Aids in Classroom A4 for injured students. Please fill out the
Student Accident Report and turn in the report to office right away.

7. Students playing in the Gymnasium and outdoor has a higher chance of having accident than
inside the classroom, please pay close attention to students during their play.
8. Please report to the office immediately if there is any kind of student’s accident or injury. No
matter how serious or mild the condition is, we have the responsibility to report to parents
daily.

Campus and Classrooms Maintains:

1. All backpacks should be placed against the wall and not blocking the entrance.
2. Printer, white board, tape, stapler, electronic pencil sharpener is for teacher used only.
3. Please do not put any tape, push pin, staple on the whiteboard and classroom wall. No writing,
stickers, and markings on the student’s desk.
4. Please remember to help us to put the chairs on top of the tables every Wednesday and Friday
after the class is over. Cleanning service is every Wednesday and Friday evening.
5. Please try to keep your classroom closet/bookshelf neat and organized, parents often want to
take a look at student’s workbooks in your classroom closet, it should be organized and clean
the whole time.
6. All backpacks at gymnasium should be arranged neatly the whole time to avoid any potential
accident occurs.
7. If any of classroom furniture is broken, please notify office to avoid any danger occur.
8. The air condition (AC) power should be OFF if it’s not used, and the fan should always be set as
AUTO. Please turn off the lights before leaving the classroom.
9. Please teach students to clean up before they are leaving the classroom.
1. Please keep teacher’s restrooms clean.
2. If you see the water fountain area is wet, please lay paper towels right away to keep the area
dry to avoid the slipping accident.
3. Please keep teacher’s copy and printing area clean and organized.
4. Please instruct students not to draw on the tables, damage the white board, kick the wall,
flush paper towels or any other objects in the toilet and respect all school properties.
5. Please clean up and maintain the classroom’s neatness after you taught the 5-6pm class.

Outdoor and Parking Lot Safety:

1. Students are not allowed to operate or play with the outdoor table umbrellas to avoid the
accidents. Students are not allowed to play under the picnic tables and benches.
2. Instruct students the Playhouse Safety Rules* the whole time. Keep the black rubbers within
the playhouse borders area.
3. The playground’s toolshed is for teachers only. Students are not allowed to enter by
themselves.
4. No other objects (books, paper, pencils, water bottles, student’s own toys) are allowed to

bring with them to the playground. Instruct students to clean up after each play.
5. Assigned outdoor teachers need to supervise students’ play the whole time. Chatting between
teachers are not allowed.
6. Speed limit is 5 miles/hour in parking lot.
7. Courtesy to let parents’ car has the right a way in the parking lot between 5:00-6:00 pm.
8. Please follow the teacher’s parking instruction and park your car in the correct spots.
9. Teachers will help to close and tie the table umbrellas after the 5-6pm outdoor time.

Playhouse Safety Rules*

1. No sitting, standing, or walking on top of the borders.


2. No climbing up on the slide. Students can only slide down on the slide.
3. No twisting or sitting on the acrobat bar.
4. No sitting on the side bars of playhouse.
5. No more than 6 kids stay on the second deck of playhouse.
6. Only 2 kids are allowed to sit on the tire swing at a time. Make sure kids don't swing too fast or
too high to avoid bumping their heads to the playhouse. No other students are allowed to push
the tire while others are riding the tire swing.

For English/ Math Teachers:

1. In the English/ Math class, all students should: 1) eat snacks (5-8 mins only), 2) do their day
(Public/Private) school homework, 3) do their Nine Fruits English and Math workbooks. After
they have finished the above, students are required to 1) correct the mistake in the
workbook daily, 2) quiet reading for at least 20 mins then 3) free drawing.
2. Students require to do ONE page (2 sides) in English (Monday and Wednesday) or Math
(Tuesday and Thursday) workbook every Monday to Thursday. Please adjust the amount of
work, if students have a lot of homework that day or the subject is too hard for them to
participate.
3. No workbook for students on Fridays. Teachers will use the Friday class time to finish all the
workbooks correction. Students will 1) eat snack, 2) do day school homework, 3) read
quietly 20 mins, 4) do quiet activity worksheets*
4. Students must correct the mistakes each day before continuing to next page.
5. When the whole workbook is finished, please check if all the previous mistakes are all
corrected before letting students to bring it home. (All parents will check after student bring
back their workbooks)
6. When your student has completed the whole workbook, please contact Jessie lao shi to
receive the new workbook for your student. Please see below for the workbook sequence:

English: 1. Spectrum Phonics =>2. Spectrum Reading => 3. Core Skill and Common Core or
Sight Word =>4. Higher Grade Phonic.
Math: 1. Spectrum=>2. DK Math=>3.Common Core => 4. Higher Grade Spectrum Math.

7. Evaluate student’s level before giving out the workbooks by having them to look at the middle
of the book and see if they can do it easily (Before writing anything in the book)
8. Outdoor playtime (between 3-5pm) is NOT required. Please take as a reward time for students
if your whole class did a great job during the week.
