RECEIPT
NARRATIVE REPORT ON LAC: READING ASSESSMENT FOR PULL OUT LEARNERS
LAC ON READING ASSESSMENT
Date: November 04, 2022
RATIONALE
Bawat Batang Bukidnon Bumabasa (4B’s) - Division of Bukidnon wide reading program under the
banner of its program reading, writing, and numeracy. Reading is an integral part of learning. Hence, every
learner should know how to read. To address this needs for learners, the division superintendent implemented
a program focusing on the fundamental needs of every learner. Every school is mandated to have a reading
intervention addressing the learning needs of learners. PNHS as a learning institution, adheres to the
division’s program on enhancing and developing learner’s ability to read, write and do numeracy.
OBJECTIVES:
1. Assess the reading, writing and numeracy level of students through the use of reading and
numeracy assessment tool.
2. Discuss the criteria in the pull-out section for reading, writing and numeracy development.
OUTPUT
In accordance to division memorandum of pull-out system for frustration learner’s. The grade
9 and grade 8 teacher’s conducted a LAC on how to address the needs of the frustration learners
based on the given assessment toll for reading. The presiding officer ma’am Nenita M. Aboniawan,
stressed out the instruction coming from The PSDS that we should pull out the frustration learners in
our classroom and separate them to create a section intended for their phase of learning.
Competencies will be disregarded and should only focused on reading, writing and arithmetic
enhancement. On this discussion a lot of ideas where poured put. Sir Jayson Logronio, shared his
idea that this pull out system should have been implemented during the enrollment and not in the
middle of the school year because students had already an attachment to their classmate and they will
feel intimidated as they will be separated. Sir Kenn Patrick Edrolin had a rejoinder with the idea of
sir Jayson that the emotional aspect of the learners will be affected because they will adjust to the
different environment they will have and they will more feel less on themselves. Ma’am Rizalie
Binayao suggested that the frustration learners will stay in their original section but they will be
given more reading enhancement and monitoring for it will be much easier to the adviser to cater
lesser frustration learners compare to a whole section. Ma’am Ferlyn Fernandez agreed and
supported the said suggestion since the teacher especially the assigned advisers for the pull out and
the reading specialist were not given proper training and seminar on how to deal with such learners.
Ma’am Nenita Aboniawan heard the teacher’s sentiments and suggestions, and agreed to them
because it can be manifested in the real scenario but she stressed out that it is a mandate from the
higher office hence, teachers will follow. All the suggested plans will be carried out and
implemented on the next school year.
The LAC session ended at around 11:30 in the morning with a harmonious collegial
discussion and Mr. Kenn Patricl l. Edrolin was the assigned adviser for and the grade 9 pull out
section and Miss Ferlyn Fernandez for the grade 8 pull out section respectively. Furthermore, it was
agreed that we will have our own reading assessment crafted from the given tool of the elementary.
All advisers have prepared a list for learners to be transferred to the pull out section.

 Frustration learners means very slow in reading and having a very poor reading

reading specialist should be the adviser of the pull out section for close monitoring.

having her position is not her choice and it is an additional task their part. They were not
