4.0 DELIVERY AND STORAGE OF MATERIALS

Upon delivery at site, stainless steel gate and accessories shall be carefully
unloaded and stored in a designated area and covered in plastic or
polystyrene sheets.

The receiving inspection is carried out to ensure materials delivered in

accordance to approval design plan.

Inspection and verification shall be done on the Delivery Order. This

inspection shall to be performed by the main contractors Site Supervisor and
the relevant party(s). Rejection or acceptance of material delivered shall be
by the discretion of the inspection parties.

5.0 WORK METHODOLOGY

5.1 Planning of Work

The gate shall be checked as per the discussion & site inspection. Any
adjustments of the installation due to the site constraint, shall be
obtained from the Edgenta engineer and approval must be granted
before proceeding.

5.2 Dismantling
The existing fence will be unbraced and subsequently pulled out of its
railing and moved to a temporary storage area. by using a hacker
machine, the railing track will be removed from the ready concrete
base and then pulled out. For the autogate motor, first of all the
electricity supply will be turned off without interfering with the operation
of other electrical devices. then the power cable will be stripped to
open the entire casing along with the autogate motor to be replaced
with new unit.

5.3 Installation

The gates shall be erected and lift on the gate railing fittings as shown
on the plans. They shall be attached in such a manner that the gate
cannot be lifted off the railing. Gates shall be erected to swing in the
direction indicated and shall be provided with gate stops, as specified
or as shown on the drawings.

After the fence is installed on the railing, all accessories and other
equipment will be installed according to the specifications agreed by
all parties, then the fence will be tested to see if it works.

The autogate motor and casing will be installed in the proper place
and the autogate gear will be installed on the track on the side of the
fence to make it work. once completed, the power cable will be
connected to the motor to provide a direct electrical connection to
provide autogate motor with power to work automatically. it will be
tested first before everything will be handed over to the client

5.3.1 Safety
Responsibilities, Authority and Accountability SSS will ensure :
• All employees and contractors involved in this activity are competent
to do so
• All employees and contractors are required to conduct this work
undergo a SSS induction.
• All employees and contractors involved in this activity are trained with
regards to the content of this Method Statement.

5.3.2 Personal Protective Equipment

We shall wear the Personal protective equipment clothing listed at all

times when on site. No workers shall be permitted on site without the
full PPE as specified
• Hard hat
• Goggles
• Overalls with high visibility reflector vest
• Safety Boots
• Ear plugs (when working in a noisy area)
• All employees will be equipped with their PPE and no one shall be

5.3.3 First Aid, emergency equipment and procedure

• We will ensure that persons at work receive prompt first aid treatment
in case of injuries or emergency
• We will provide first aid box or boxes at or near the work place which
shall be available and accessible
• Report any incident/accident immediately to supervisor or safety
representative on site
• All person working on site will undergo induction, safety awareness
training and environmental training with regarding emergency
procedures, fire, or electrical shut down

6.0 INSPECTION AND TESTING

6.1 In-progress Installation Inspection

The in-process inspection shall be carried out to ensure conformance

of the installation works.

A “Request for Inspection” form shall be forwarded to the client to

request for inspection to be carried out on the particular work. The
inspection result shall meet the requirement as stated in the approved
methodology.
