3. BreezeAIR NMS
3.1 Introduction
BreezeAIR NMS includes multiple interfaces used to display, analyze, configure and
monitor BreezeAIR network.
• Tree View – all BreezeAIR radios are displayed in a tree view that arranges the
radios hierarchically (three level deep) and provides a ‘health in glance’ display of
the deployment.
• Google Map View – BreezeAIR NMS interfaces with Google maps. The radios may
be located on the map providing a visual display of the entire deployment.
• WEB interface – BreezeAIR NMS interfaces with the WEB interface of BreezeAIR
radios for configuration, monitoring and analysis (RF analysis, traffic analysis, etc).
In addition, BreezeAIR supports third party WEB interface (routers / switches, etc).
• Topology map – displays the network topology and logical connections between
all radios in the network.
• Path profiler - powerful link planning software used to evaluate link performance,
taking into account radio specifications, geographical information, antenna height
and gain, estimated noise level and climate conditions.

sole purpose is to organize the deployment in a manageable way.
The default and main cell is called Deployment. In case an MU is not assigned to a
cell, this will be its default cell until relocated.
MU – BreezeAIR Master Unit that controls one or more Slave Units (SU). The MU is
represented with a color-coded icon that changes automatically when the MU status
changes:
• Green when MU is online.
• Red when MU is offline.
SU – Slave Unit, represented with a color-coded icon that change automatically when
the SU status changes:
• Green when SU is online.
• Red when SU is offline.

To download the NMS event log, select "Get Log" in the administrator menu. The
event log includes a record of various operations performed by the operators. During
the session, the log keeps track of operations performed on the radios.
The log is created and maintained automatically by the NMS, and it can be
downloaded and viewed for analysis.
The first two lines describe the login operation performed by a user named
administrator to the NMS.
The third record describe a submit operation. For example in Figure 27:
• Performed on {radio MAC - radio IP}
• ‘SUBMIT’ on AUINFO which is the radio general information parameters
• The parameter that was changed - TXPWR (Tx power)
• The change from 30dBm to 28 dBm.
Note: Only the first change in a group of parameters is recorded, and it is advised to
change configuration one parameter at a time.
Import/Export database
Export a database – Downloads the current database to the local PC downloads folder
under the name radios(xxx).yap. This is a single file containing the current SQLite DB
of the entire site including radios, alarms, and users.
Please rename the file with a meaningful name reflecting the backup state and store it
in a designated folder.
Import a database – Uploads a previously exported db. The NMS will close
automatically after the import.
Telrad Networks BreezeAIR NMS
Import/Export Site
This operation provides a way to export, modify and import an external file of radios.
Note: Radios are ‘pushing’ themselves into the NMS, so this function maybe used for
‘pre-configuring’ the site, before actual installation of the radios, but it is not
mandatory since the radios can be discovered automatically.
The recommended way for using this function:
a. Export Site – export a csv (excel) file into the local PC downloads folder.
b. Modify the file as needed - edit radios, add radios, etc, while keeping the
original structure of the file:
• Cell
• MU
• All the SUs belongs to the MU
• Repeat as needed
The structure is important in order to reflect correctly in the tree view.
c. Import Site – import a csv file with a correct structure. The NMS will merge it
to the currently displayed site. Radio will not be deleted and the NMS will not
close.
Note: Please Export the database before importing the Site, it is not required, but
highly recommended, to avoid unintended changes in the new imported site.
Unmanaged Radios
The NMS will ‘delete’ the radio by blocking any information coming from the network
regarding this radio, and also ‘erase’ it from the tree and information lists.
If at later time this radio is re-instated, it may be managed again by using the
Unmanaged Radios option.
Telrad Networks BreezeAIR NMS
The firmware upgrade procedure is an easy way to upgrade firmware for the entire
site. Following are some guidelines and instructions for this feature.
a. Only MUs are upgraded, the MU itself automatically upgrades its SUs in case
upgrade is done to a newer version.
b. Only radios that are compatible with the selected firmware file are updated, so
the upgrade process may be repeated several times with different firmware file
or with the same firmware file.
c. All the MUs are upgraded simultaneously and will perform a reset after the
upgrade. Then SUs will upgrade automatically and will also reboot. As such,
entire process may take few minutes to complete.
d. During the process, the NMS provides indications on the progress.
• Drag & drop the firmware file, or select "Choose File" and navigate to the
desired firmware file.
• After file selection the title of the upgrade dialog will reflect the selected file.
• After couple of seconds (~20), the targeted MUs for upgrade will be shown in
the "To Upgrade" list.
Telrad Networks BreezeAIR NMS
• Select:
o "Upgrade Now" – to start the upgrade immediatly.
o "Upgrade At" – set the time to start the upgrade (for example: 20:00 to
start the upgrade at 8pm).
• After couple of minutes, the "Upgraded" list is populated with the MUs that
completed the upgrade.
Note: if software update has not been completed to some of the MUs (remained in
the "to upgrade" list), re-select the file and upgrade again.
In addition to manual backup options (like export DB and export site), the NMS also
creates backup files automatically:

4. Path Profiler
Telrad’s Path Profiler is a powerful link planning software, integrated in BreezeAIR
NMS.
BreezeAIR users can use the path profiler to evaluate link performance, taking into
account radio specifications, geographical information, antenna height and gain,
estimated noise level and climate conditions.
The profiler automatically saves simulation history in the database and generates
informative PNG files.
The path profiler requires connection to the internet in order to perform the analysis.
