Stoody 105 is a submerged arc welding wire that produces multiple crack-free layers for wear resistance applications. It deposits well in 3 layers but requires an underbase of Stoody 104 for more than 3 layers. The wire can be used in diameters of 1/8, 5/32, and 7/64 inches with appropriate currents and voltages depending on diameter. It has very good abrasion resistance and impact resistance with good compressive strength and hardness. Typical applications include rollers, mine car wheels, charging car wheels, idlers, and arch wheels.
