Newton's Laws of Motion

1. Rolling friction can be smaller than static or sliding friction. Lubricants reduce static friction. Friction between ball bearings and their contacting surfaces is rolling friction. 2. Newton's third law states that for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. The resultant force of the action and reaction is zero. 3. Newton's first law states that an object at rest stays at rest and an object in motion stays in motion with the same speed and in the same direction unless acted upon by an unbalanced force.
