All we need to know
In the past simple, we use the structure
“subject + verb in past + complement”
this is the main structure for the past tense
and for this we need to know about the verbs in
past form, we have two types, irregular and
regular verbs, the regular verbs are easier
than irregular, we have to remember this

In general we add -ed to all regular verbs. For example: “wash = washed”.
To verbs that end in -e, we only add one -d. For example: “like = liked”.
For verbs that end in a consonant + -y, change the "y" to "i" and add -ed (=-ied). For example: “carry = carried”
Verbs that end in a vowel + -y add -ed. For example: “play = played”.
