Introduction
This Cross-Border Payment For more information on the messages
Reporting plus (CBPRplus) MT to MX that are in scope of transaction manager
equivalent table intention is to Release 1 as well as other ISO 20022
document the collection of ISO 20022 messages for which SWIFT provides
messages supported on SWIFT’s in-flow translation, please refer to the
InterAct FINplus service in Transaction Manager Service
comparison with the legacy MT Description or the In-flow Translation
Category 1, 2 and 9 messages. Service Overview respectively.

All CBPRplus Usage Guidelines are


included in one collection published
on MyStandards. All payment
messages within this collection
contain a single transaction to enable
management of the end-to-end
transaction.

The general intention is to retire all


legacy MT Category 1, 2 and 9
messages used outside of a FIN User
Group. Details on the targeted
retirement date is include within this
document for each message.

Proprietary message This message type is used by financial institutions, with their own
offices, with other financial institutions and/or with corporate
MT 298 customers with which they have established bilateral agreements
May 2023 It is used as an envelope for a specified message included in it.

It allows for the definition of a unique format for which another


message type is not available or applicable.
Proprietary message
It also allows financial institutions to use message types which are
awaiting live implementation on the SWIFT system.
