Traffic Control Devices

Traffic signs are one of the main traffic control devices used to regulate, warn, and guide road users through the use of symbols and text on standardized sign boards. There are three main types of traffic signs: regulatory signs that communicate rules, warning signs that notify of hazards, and informative signs that provide directional guidance. Proper traffic sign design and placement aims to command attention, clearly convey the intended meaning, and ensure compliance from all road users to help prevent accidents.
