I. Introduction
From your previous activities, you were already introduced with some
computer basics. One of which is that regardless of its type, computers
consists of three parts: hardware, software and peopleware; and how they
differ from each other. But aside from the examples given to you, there are
still a lot more to learn about hardware and software. You must also realize
that in working with computers, safety should also be a priority. So, what
are you waiting for? Come on and let us explore!
III. Objectives:
At the end of this learning activity sheet, you are expected to:
Input device are devices which allows the user to send data to the
computer.
1. Keyboard is a device consists of numbers, letters, symbols
and other keys. Users must tap these keys to enter the data
or command into the computer.
2. Mouse is a device which helps users to navigate and control
the cursor in the computer. With the use of a mouse you will
be able to open an application or send a command to the
computer.
3. Touch screen from k_to_12_entrep-based _pc_ hardware
_servicing _learning_module refers to a screen that is
sensitive to a touch of a finger or a stylus.
4. Scanners are devices which are capable of converting
letters, images or codes into a form of data that the computer
can process.
5. Microphones are devices which converts sounds into signals
for the computer to process.
3
Just to recall, softwares are instructions that tell the hardware
what to do. Therefore, one will not function well without the other. Let
us look at this given example. Let us say you will be doing a letter, to
illustrate how the computer will function,
Input Device Process (Software) Output Device Storage
(Hardware) (Hardware) (Hardware)
Keyboard Word Processing Printer Flashdrive
Mouse Software
Example: MS
Word
As you can see without the software that will process the raw
data encoded using the input device, there will be no output. From
here, you can see how important is the role of each.

your computer.
2. A type of peripheral device which is used to send data on the
computer.
3. A type of peripheral device which is designed to keep data
processed by computers.
4. A type of peripheral device which can display processed data.
5. A type of port which is used to connect computers to a local
area network.
6. A type of port that is used to connect modern devices into a
computer.
VII. Reflection
After accomplishing the activities, I have learned that
Peripherals are __________________________________________________
__________________________________________________________________.
These peripherals are classified into three, namely, input,
output and storage. Here are some examples for each.
Input Output Storage

And here are the word that will help me remember the
difference between the three.
