skills in a debate setting.

skills through engaging debate activities.

Whiteboard or chart paper


Markers
Timer or stopwatch
Debate topic cards
Index cards or small pieces of paper

Procedure:

Introduction (10 minutes):

1. Begin the lesson by asking students what they understand by the term
"debate rundown" and "technical skills." Write their responses on the
whiteboard or chart paper.
2. Explain that debate rundown refers to the structure and order of
arguments and rebuttals in a debate, while technical skills involve the
effective use of voice modulation, body language, and emphasis.
3. Connect the learning objectives by stating that understanding debate

Activity 1: Debate Rundown (15 minutes):

4. Set a time limit for each speaker, ensuring that each team member has
an opportunity to participate.
