IP Addressing and Subnetting

The document discusses IP addressing and subnetting using both fixed length subnet masking (FLSM) and variable length subnet masking (VLSM). It provides examples of subnetting a Class C network into 4 subnets of 50 hosts each, and using VLSM to allocate IP addresses across 8 departments with varying network size needs.

IP Addressing and Subnetting

PCSIR
Lecture No 2:
FLSM (Fixed Length Subnet mask)
VLMS (Variable Length Subnet mask)
 IP address with default subnet mask is called Classful Ip
address.
 Ip address with other then default subnet mask is called Class
less Ip address.
 Network ID will always be even
 Broadcast ID will always be Odd
