June 07, 2023 Schedule of Monitoring GPP Maharlika was Implemented
and Evaluation of GPP- monitored and
Maharlika evaluated by the GPP
Division Committee

To support the program’s aim, Maharlika Integrated School participated and put
up a Gulayan sa Paaralan tied with the other programs of the school headed by our school
principal, Aurora L. Perez, with joint efforts of the teachers, pupils, and stakeholders like the
parents. In general, the pupils, teachers and parents were very participative in making the
program a success.

The whole Maharlika Integrated School worked hand in hand and was able to materialize the
MIS Urban Gardening Project proposed by Master Teacher-In-Charge in Science Ma’am
Hermelita Tangulan titled, “Tapat Mo, Garden Mo”, in which each class in a room with front
corridor grills were assigned to maintain an urban plant garden or vertical garden. They were
able to grow vegetable plants like Pechay but were harvested already since it was grown last
October and were replaced with Malabar Spinach, and then in other front corridor grills, they
were able to plant herbal plants like Oregano and ornamental plants like Snake plants and
many more.

In the Greenhouse, we were able to put up containerized gardening planted with Eggplants
and many more arranged and grouped accordingly. And there, our eco-planters from pet
bottles can be found too, thanks to the Eco-team led by ma’am Maita C. Tan, School YES-O
Coordinator. And we also had our aquaponics in the MIS Greenhouse. And we were also able
to nurture different kinds of vegetable seedlings in the seed boxes of our Nursery in the MIS
Greenhouse. We also had our hydroponics at the back of DPWH building planted with
Lettuce. And improvised hydroponics at the Greenhouse. We were able to materialize a
kitchen garden too at the back of the Cayetano Building and Ataya Building planted with
different kinds of vegetable, bearing fruits, non-bearing fruits, and herbs. With our compost
pit located at the back of the DPWH and Cayetano Building, we’re able to maintain our
garden with the fertilizer from it.

Last June 7, 2023, our Gulayan sa Paaralan was monitored and evaluated by the GPP
Division Committee as our school participated in the selection of best implementer of
Gulayan sa Paaralan Programs, Projects, and Activities. So far, we’re able to receive positive
feedback on our Gulayan sa Paaralan from the Division Committee, thanks to the effort of
everybody who worked together hand in hand that made our Gulayan sa Paaralan. Truly,
nothing is impossible if we work as one body.

Now we are waiting for the harvest so that some of them can be used for supplementary
feeding.
