Quick Interpretation of The Data

The document summarizes the results of a mediation analysis conducted using PROCESS. It found that: 1) Teacher self-efficacy had a significant direct relationship with teacher burnout. 2) Teacher self-efficacy had a significant relationship with the mediator of spousal support. 3) Spousal support had a significant relationship with teacher burnout. 4) Bootstrapping analysis found an indirect effect of teacher self-efficacy on burnout through spousal support, suggesting partial mediation.

Mediation Path Analysis – The Mediating Role of Spousal Support on the Relationship
Between Teacher Self-Efficacy and Teacher Burnout.

A mediation analysis using PROCESSv4.3.1 for SPSSv29 (Hayes, 2023) was

conducted with all three requirements for a mediation met (see Figure 3 and Table 5) (Baron

& Kenny, 1986). First, the total effect of teacher ‘self-efficacy’ (IV) and ‘burnout’ (DV)

(Path C) was analysed identifying significant direct relationship p< .001. Second, a

statistically significant relationship between ‘Self-efficacy’ (IV) and the mediator ‘Spousal

support’ p< .001 (Path A) was found. Third, the analysis identified a statistically significant

relationship between the mediator ‘Spousal support’ and ‘burnout’ (DV) p< .05 (Path B).

Finally, to test the indirect association of the mediator, bootstrapped 95% CI of the indirect

effect was calculated. Analysis of the output identified a significant relationship (p<.001)

between the mediator ‘Spousal support’ and both the variables of ‘Self-efficacy and ‘Bunout’

(Path C’) with confidence intervals not containing zero (95% CI [-1.5, -.13). Analysis of the

direct effects (95% CI [-16.18 -8.94) suggests a partial mediation between the variable

Spousal support and the relationship between teacher self-efficacy and burnout.
