The goal of this case study was to design a user interface for a vintage
clothing app that seamlessly facilitates browsing, selection, and purchase on
both mobile and desktop platforms. The aim is to create an intuitive, visually
engaging interface that enhances the shopping experience, enabling users
to effortlessly explore, select, and purchase vintage clothing items from any
location with internet connectivity.

I used what I learned from the user testing to clean up and finalize the mid
fidelity wireframes and turn them into working high fidelity frames. These
are the final screens of the first iteration of this app, however I will be
adding a second iteration attached below in which I will add 3 more key
features.

Users interact with applications across various devices, including

desktop computers. Creating a desktop version ensures that my case
study reflects a comprehensive understanding of the user experience
across different platforms. A desktop version allows me to demonstrate
how the UI responds to different size screen.
Mockups

Mockups provide a visual resprentation of the final design, allowing

stakeholders, clients, and other to see how the user interface will look
and feel. Unlike wireframes, mockups add a more realistic context to the
UI.
Final Thoughts

One key insight I would take away from this project is to always
make sure the foreground color and background color have good
contrast, this gave me problems early on until I started using sites
like WebAim to automatically check the contrast levels between
colors. Another insight is keeping the style of your input fields
consistent throughout the Ui. Consistent input fields help maintain
the hierarchy you choose to establish throughout your Ui. This
reduces confusion, improves efficiency, and makes the overall user
experience more intuitive.

The Task i enjoyed the most was definitely choosing the color
palette. I narrowed my choices down to using purple or blue as the
dominate. I ultimately decided on purple because it can give off the
same emotive properties of blue but it is less common, which in the
end was more appealing to me in order to stand out from other
apps. Through my research of other clothing apps on the market I
decided that white backgrounds look best and to use color
sparingly.

The task i found the most challenging was the selecting of the
typeface, I spent probably a little too much time doing this
unfortunately. I knew I wanted a modern typeface with a good
selection of bold fonts. The header of each page just had to have a
certain look that i just couldn't quite find until i discovered the
typeface “prompt”. It perfectly captured the look I was trying to
achieve.
