Science Deductive Method

The lesson plan details teaching students about the different parts of plants and their functions. It includes objectives, subject matter from the curriculum, required materials, and values. The learning activities will use a deductive method, beginning with a statement of the problem and story to introduce the topic. Students will then learn about each part of the plant - roots, stems, flowers, leaves, fruits, and seeds - and their functions. They will be divided into groups to test their knowledge by naming the parts and functions shown in pictures. The winning group will be announced.

A. Statement of the Problem
Good Morning Class
Good Morning, Ma’am
Please Stand up for our Prayer
(Stand Up)
Can you lead the prayer, Jay?
Let us bow our head and feel the presence
of our lord. In the name of the father, the son,
the holy spirit, Amen…

Thank you, Jay, for the prayer. Before sitting

down, let’s first check the surroundings.
Arrange your chairs properly and pick up the
pieces of paper.

Who’s absent today, class secretary?

None teacher

Very good! All are present!

So, class what our previous lesson, Daniel?
Our previous lesson is all about different
types of animals
Very Good, Daniel
So, what are the four different kinds of
animals?
Teacher! Teacher!
Yes, Joven?
The different types of animals are herbivores,
omnivores, and carnivores.

Very Good, Joven

Will you please give us some example of
carnivorous animals, George?
An example of carnivore animals is Lion,
Wolf, Leopard, Hyena, and Polar Bear
teacher.
Magnificent, George
Next who want to give some examples of
herbivorous animals?

Teacher! Teacher!
Yes, Kyla?

An example of herbivorous animals is Cow,

Goat, Deer, Horse, and Panda teacher.
Very Good Kyla
Greg can you give us an example of
Omnivorous Animals?
An example of Omnivorous Animals is Pig,
Squirrel, Bear, Chipmunks, and Dog teacher.
Very well said Greg.
So now let me read you a story, listen
carefully okay?
Yes Teacher!

There is a young girl named Anna who knows

the different parts of plants such as roots,
stems, leaves, flowers, fruits, and seeds but
she doesn’t know what are their function.
This story is related is related to our new
lesson and later we will know on how we can
help Anna with her problem.
We will try to help Anna right class?
Yes, Teacher!
B. Generalization
Today we will discuss about the different
parts of plant and their function
First, we will tackle about what is plant?
The most important and fundamental
elements of our environment are plants. Like
to humans, plants are living things that need
food, water, and sunlight to survive. In
addition, they have cells, age and die as
people do, and most crucially, they react in
the same ways. They have a physical
structure made up of several sections, much
like humans. Each of the components has a
certain job to do. The existence of a plant
would be impossible without such
components. You get it class?
Yes Teacher!
Alright very good next we will talk about the
different parts of the plants and their
functions.
First, we will talk about roots, Roots are the
most crucial component of a plant since they
are in charge of supplying the plant with the
essential nutrients. They are the ones in
charge of getting water and nutrients to the
plants. In addition, they serve as the plants'
active support system, without which they
could not cling to the earth. Moreover, they
are in charge of storing food for eventual use
by the plants.
Terry, could you please tell me which part of
the plant is in charge of providing the plants
with nutrients and water?
The Roots, Teacher
Very Good Terry
Second is the stems, Stems serve as the
plants' support structures. Their primary role
is to act as glucose-delivery mechanisms for
the nutrients and water stored in the roots
and transport them to the other plant
components. Moreover, stems deliver
nutrients from the leaves to the other plant
sections.
What part of the plants that serve as the
plants' support structures, Yes Angela?
The Stems, Teacher
Magnificent Angela
Third is the flowers, Plants' reproductive
organs are called as flowers. They are mostly
in charge of fruit production. The ovules
found in the flowers are fertilized, leading to
the production of fruit. Moreover, they carry
pollen that aids in flower pollination. The
ovules develop into fruit after a combination
process of fertilization and pollination.
Who can give the plant part in charge of fruit
production?
Teacher! Teacher!
Yes Mike?
The flowers, Teacher
Very Good

Fourth is the leaves, the leaves are an

essential feature of a plant since they store
all of the plant's sustenance. A unique feature
of leaves is that they are intended for
photosynthesis, which contributes to the
process of food production in the leaves.
Again, what part of the plant that store all of
the plant’s sustenance? Karla
The leaves, teacher
Correct, Thank you Karla
Fifth is the fruits, Fruits are the products of
plant reproduction. The fruit contains the
seed, which is the most important component
from which reproduction begins. As a result,
they serve as a protective coating for seeds.
The basic function of a fruit is to distribute
seeds and allow the plant to reproduce. As a
result, all flowering plants produce fruit,
regardless of whether it is edible, sweet, or
soft.
Any volunteer who can identify what part of
plant that serve as a protective coating for
seeds? Benji?
The fruits, teacher

Very Good, Benji

Lastly are the seeds, Seeds are the primary
means of reproduction. They are most
typically found in fruits, where they germinate
and grow into new plants.
So, class we already identified the different
parts of plants and their functions.
Everything’s clear?
Yes, Teacher

C. Inference
So, class, I'm going to divide you into five
groups. Each group will be given a picture of
a plant, and you will name the different parts
of the plant and their functions. The first
group to name the different parts of the plants
and their functions will win.

Criteria
Time – 20%
Correct Answer - 30%
Total – 50%
Are you ready class?

Yes, Teacher
The Winner is group 4
Good job class you identify the different parts
of plants and their functions
D. Verification
So, Class again what is plant? Are you
raising your hand Divine?
Yes ma’am, plants are living things that need
food, water, and sunlight to survive. In
addition, they have cells, age and die as
people do, and most crucially, they react in
the same ways. They have a physical
structure made up of several sections, much
like humans. Each of the components has a
certain job to do. The existence of a plant
would be impossible without such
Very Good Divine!
Next who can give me a part of plants and
their function? Yes Linda?
Roots teacher the function of the roots is in
charge of supplying the plant with the
essential nutrients. They are the ones in
charge of getting water and nutrients to the
plants. In addition, they serve as the plants'
active support system, without which they
could not cling to the earth. Moreover, they
are in charge of storing food for eventual use
by the plants.
That’s correct Linda
Next? Yes Edward?
Stem teacher the function of the roots is
serve as the plants' support structures. Their
primary role is to act as glucose-delivery
mechanisms for the nutrients and water
stored in the roots and transport them to the
other plant components. Moreover, stems
deliver nutrients from the leaves to the other
plant sections.
Well said Edward
Who can give another example? Okay
Venus?

Flower teacher and the function of it is they

are mostly in charge of fruit production. The
ovules found in the flowers are fertilized,
leading to the production of fruit. Moreover,
they carry pollen that aids in flower
pollination. The ovules develop into fruit after
a combination process of fertilization and
pollination.
Very Good! Venus
Other hands please, Yes Nicole?
leaves teacher its function is they store all of
the plant's sustenance. A unique feature of
leaves is that they are intended for
photosynthesis, which contributes to the
process of food production in the leaves.

Nice, Nicole
The boy at the back, yes Bernard?
Fruits teacher and the function of it is they
serve as a protective coating for seeds. The
basic function of a fruit is to distribute seeds
and allow the plant to reproduce. As a result,
all flowering plants produce fruit, regardless
of whether it is edible, sweet, or soft.
Good job Bernard
And the last one? Yes Cj?
The Seeds teacher they are the primary
means of reproduction. They are most
typically found in fruits, where they germinate
and grow into new plants.
Magnificent Class all of you are listening
