OBJECTIVES The objectives of the lesson will depend on the sections that will be taught.

LINGUISTIC AIMS It has to do with the content which will be experienced and learned by the kids
throughout the lesson.

INPUT DATA All the resources and (extra) materials needed during the lesson.

Teacher should greet the students at the door and call on them using their names.
WELCOMING If there is enough space, it’s a good idea to have cushions on the floor so they
STUDENTS can sit down. Change the setting by changing the position of the cushions often.
Invite students to get some toys to play or books to read while the others arrive.
Teacher should invite students to stand up to sing the Hello song. These songs
are available in the Audio CD (teacher’s kit).
HELLO SONG The routine of singing the Hello song catches students’ attention and make them
realize the lesson is about to start.
Make sure everyone sings it with enthusiasm, a smile and body language.
During this moment kids will socialize with the teacher and their classmates while
working on the following routine:
- How are you today?
CIRCLE TIME - Calendar: day of the week, what’s the weather like?,…
- Small talks using linguistic items taught previously
- Looking for the puppet
- Lesson contextualization based on what the puppet brings or on what it
is doing.

TABLE TIME At this moment, teacher invites students to open their books and the group starts
working on the activities assigned to this lesson - according to the teacher’s book.

When kids listen to the tidying up song they know it’s time to organize their stuff in
TIDYING UP TIME order to say good bye and leave the classroom. At this time, kids should be
encouraged to learn about the importance of organizing things and tidying up the
classroom before leaving.

LESSON This moment aims at promoting a fun review of what was taught in the lesson.
At this time, teachers should measure how much the kids have learned and
ACCOUNTABILITY
recognize the linguistic items that should be reviewed in the following classes.

Teacher should invite students to stand up to sing the Bye bye song. These songs
BYE BYE SONG are available in the Audio CD (teacher’s kit).
With this routine, kids will notice the lesson is about to finish. Make sure everyone
sings it with enthusiasm, smile and body language.

PASSWORD Before leaving the classroom, kids will be encouraged to say a word or a
sentence learned during the lesson.
