1. Code used for Design the structure

Design of structure shall be in conformity to Technical Specifications in general and in

accordance with following codes and standards:

• IS 456 -2000: Indian standard code of practice for plain and Reinforced concrete.
• IS 800 -2007: Indian standard code of practice for General construction in steel.
• SP:34-1987 Detailing of steel reinforcement for concrete
• IS:875 (PART-3)-2015 Code of Practice for Design Loads (Other Than Earthquakes) For
Buildings & Structures -Part 3 Wind Loads.
• IS:6533-1989 Code of practice for Design and construction of steel chimney.

2. Material strength for construction

Following properties of material have been used for all members (RCC).

• Grade of concrete (Fck)=25 Mpa

• Grade of steel (Fy) = 500Mpa

Following properties of material have been used for all members (Steel).

Yield Strength: Fy355 ,

di RE tuf/Ants ,A_`!!m.qfu' !{ft3n

3. Unit weights:
• Concrete (RCC) =25kN/m3
• Structural steel = 78.5kN/m3
• Soil =Assumedto be moderate

4. Type of Loading:

> Dead Loads: DL

• Appropriate densities are defined for the structural members from which, STAAD-Pro software
automatically generates their self-weights.
• Luminaries weight as per Technical data sheet attached in subsequent pages.

> LiveLoad: LL
• Live load considered/assumed as 2lIN on top of the Mast.

> Wind Loads: WL

• The wind load has been considered as per ls: 875 (Part-3)-2015 and wind pressure calculation
done as follows:
• Pz= 0.6 Vz2 N/sqm; Vz = Kl*K2*K3*K4*Vb; pd = pz*Kd*Ka*Kc
• Where, Vz =Design wind velocity.
• K1 =Probability factor or risk coefficient, taken as o.9, considering 25 years of life.
• K2=Terrain, height and structure size factor, Terrain category `2' is taken as 1.06 from Table
2 for I 6 in height
• K3 =Topography factor= 1.0
• K4 =Importance factor forthe cyclonic region = 1.0
• Ka =Area averaging factor= I.0
• Kc =Combination factor = 0.9
• Kd =Wind directionality factor = 1.0 (For circular structure)
• Vb=Basicwindspeed=50m/s
• Thus,pz=Designwindpressure=(0.9x l.06x 1.Ox I.Ox50)2xO.6x(1.OxO.9x 1.0)N/m2
• = 1228.65 N/m2
®

• =~ 1.30 kN/m2
• (Wind speed may be taken as constant up to a height ofl0 in. However, pressures for buildings less than tom high

may be reduced by 20 percent for evaluating stability and design of the framing.)
• For the safety purpose, the pressure is considered for design is pd as 1.3 kN/m2
• Wind load on structure is applied in STAAD model as an open structure.

> Earthquake Load: HQ

• Earthquake Load is as per relevant zone lv, Zone Factor =0.24 from ls 1893 (Part 1):2016
• Importance factor, I is considered as I.0 as per Table 8 of ls 1893 (Part I):2002
• Response Reduction factorR is taken 5 as given in Table 9 of ls 1893 Part I):2016
• Damping in structures considered
