This domain focuses on ensuring that IT is directed and monitored to support the
organization's strategies and objectives. It involves assessing the current state of IT,
ensuring alignment with business goals, and monitoring performance and
compliance.
The APO domain is concerned with aligning IT with the organization's strategy,
planning IT initiatives, and organizing IT resources effectively. It includes activities
such as managing the IT portfolio, defining and managing budgets, and managing
human resources.
BAI concentrates on executing IT projects and initiatives. This involves building and
acquiring solutions, managing projects and programs, and ensuring that IT solutions
meet business requirements. It covers areas like project management, requirements
definition, and solution identification and building.
DSS deals with delivering IT services, providing user support, and maintaining the
operational aspects of IT. This domain includes managing service requests and
incidents, user services, and configuration, as well as addressing problems and
incidents effectively.
The MEA domain is about monitoring and assessing the performance of IT,
evaluating internal controls, and ensuring compliance with external requirements. It
includes activities such as performance monitoring, internal control monitoring, and
compliance monitoring.
These domains collectively provide a comprehensive framework for the governance and
management of enterprise IT. Organizations can use COBIT® to align their IT activities with business
objectives, manage risks, and ensure the effective and efficient use of IT resources. Keep in mind
