The diagram provides a breakdown of how chocolate is produced. Overall, the
production of chocolate involves ripe red cacao seeds undergoing various physical,
chemical and biological processes under different temperature conditions to
become liquid chocolate.
The process commences when ripe cocoa beans, which are recognisable by its red
pods, are harvested on cacao trees indigenous to South America, Africa and
Indonesia. Upon being harvested, the oval-shaped pods have their skins removed,
and are broken into halves so that the white cocoa beans can be collected. The
beans are thereafter sent to a rectangular receptacle where they are fermented.
After the fermentation process, the fermented beans are dehydrated by being
spread under a prolonged exposure to the sun and then packaged in large sacks.
The process continues when these sacks are transported by train or lorry to a
factory. In the factory, the beans undergo a roasting phase at 350 degree
centigrade, after which they are sent to a relatively flat, cylindrical grinder to be
crushed, with outer shells being taken away. The inner part goes through a press
with two rollers where it is pressed and liquid chocolate is made as a result of this
pressing phase.

The plans illustrate how much a particular theater has changed between 2010 and
2012. It seems that the theater was expanded sideways to incorporate more
facilities.
Overall, a number of changes took place all over the layout of the building, with
some existing features being converted and relocated in the process. The only
exception was the central part, which remained relatively unchanged.
In 2010, the theater could be accessed from the main entrance to the South,
through which a cafe could be spotted in the right corner. Opposite the cafe lay a
ticket office and administration office to the other side. In the next 2 years,
however, the ticket office was relocated to the bottom right corner where the cafe
had been, while the administration office was moved to the back. This was to make
way for a new restaurant area in the left rear corner.
The auditorium in the middle saw no change whatsoever, although the stage in
front had been nearly doubled in size, with the addition of a side hall behind it. The
old media room and storage room had been moved to the top left and right side
respectively, both of which could now be accessed from the new hallway. Finally,
a new showers area was built next to the media room

The maps depict modifications made to the layout of an unspecified student
common room. Overall, the room has been renovated extensively, seeing great re-
arrangements of the tables in the centre and small changes to some of the amenities
to the left-hand side of the entrance.
Five years ago, most of the room area was occupied by four sets of 7-piece round
tables. However, in the present day, two of them were replaced by a 9-piece
rectangular table set, with the other two remaining unchanged. The cabinet to the
bottom right corner of the map was replaced by a television, with three additional
armchairs placed around it. A new bench for laptops was arranged between one
round table set and the television area, and that bench was placed against the wall.
Other major changes include the addition of another microwave which was placed
right next to the old one, and a drinks machine adjacent to the refrigerator. The
sink, the cupboard and the bench, however, remained at the same location.
Sample 2
The two plans illustrate a number of changes which have taken place in a student
common room between five years ago and now. Overall, the common room has
been refurbished to incorporate more facilities, especially in the communal open
area.
According to the plan from 5 years ago, there were a total of 4 round tables in the
communal area, laid out in an alternate arrangement with each of which being
surrounded by small chairs. From the entrance on the West, one could also spot, in
successive order, a cupboard, a sink, 2 benches, a microwave and a refrigerator
along the section to the North. Finally, a bookshelf was situated on the bottom
right corner.
In the present day, the two round tables in the middle have been removed to free up
the space. To compensate for this, a long rectangular table with multiple chairs has
been placed near the entrance. To the South of the room, there is a new bench for
students’ laptops, adjacent to a new television set with surrounding armchairs,
which has taken the place of the old bookshelf. A new drinks vending machine has
also been added beside the fridge. Finally, except for the one bench that was
replaced by an additional microwave, the row of furniture to the North remained
almost the same.

The maps depict modifications to a student accommodation building from 2010 to
the present day. Overall, the building has been renovated extensively, seeing
fundamental changes to the student-bedrooms and the gardens. In addition, more
entrances are added as a result of the remodelling.
In 2010, the building was a relatively green area with three gardens to the
northwest, the north and the south of the map. However, in the present day, only
the northern one remains; the other two were replaced by a new student bedroom
and a car park. The number of student bedrooms was greatly expanded from the
original three to five, replacing the former living room.
The current building is also more accessible with more doors added, connecting the
rooms to each other and to the exterior. Other major changes include the
introduction of an en-suite room and the addition of a new social area in the
kitchen. The big bathroom sited at the heart of the map, however, remained
unchanged over the given period.
Sample 2
The diagrams illustrate how much a student accommodation has changed from
2010 to the present.
In general, the building witnessed several changes all over its layout throughout the
period. The most remarkable modification was the extension of the space used for
the study-bedrooms. At the same time, some other features have been converted or
removed to serve the new design.
In 2010, located at the center of the area was the main building, to the southwest
part of which lay a large hall and a bathroom. Opposite those rooms to the right
side were a study-bedroom and a kitchen. Currently, the hall has been expanded to
include the bathroom and a new en suite bathroom inside, while the kitchen has
been enlarged and used as a social area.
A living room and a study-bedroom have been constructed in the northern part of
the building. However, the living room has been replaced by a large study-
bedroom in the current design. Next to the building to the west, another study-
bedroom has been constructed right beside the old study-bedroom. Finally, the
garden to the south of the building has been replaced by a parking area, while the
northside one remained unchanged.

The diagrams depict modifications to an unspecified beachfront area in Australia.
Overall, the area was renovated extensively, seeing fundamental changes to the
road leading to the city, its swimming pool, and other recreational facilities.
In 1950, to the uppermost part of the map, there was a road running eastward from
the city directly to the car park. In the present day, the road was expanded
southward, leading to the lighthouse and circling the entire beachfront. A new car
park was added, taking up the space where there once was a playground.
Another major change includes the addition of a big restaurant and a surf club,
which was located to the western area of the beach. The pool adjacent to the two
said facilities is now expanded to become a 50-meter one, and while the other pool
to the east was unchanged, there was a new surf club added next to it.
The dining tables and the pavilion along the road, however, remained at the same
position over the given period.
Sample 2
The maps show the changes made to a beachfront area in Australia from 1950 until
today.
Overall, the entire waterfront area has seen significant development in terms of
new facilities, buildings, and access roads.
In 1950, the access road only went as far as the car park located next to the
pavilion. However, today the access road extends all the way around to the
lighthouse next to the beach. In addition, another carpark has been built, replacing
the old children’s playground area.
The two swimming pools located beside the beach still remain today, however the
pool located on the western side of the beach has been converted into a 50m pool.
New buildings for a restaurant and surf club have also been constructed nearby the
50m pool. The 25m pool next to the lighthouse remains unchanged, although it is
also now accompanied by a new building for another surf club.
