Organization Capacity: IFU has a team of human resource who are well
qualified and experienced for project implementation. The organization follows
regular monitoring, sharing experiences and immediate action for the successful
implementation of project activities. IFU specifically targets to ensure its
support to the development of women, youths and children to build their
capacity and skills.
Project title: ICT Training to 200 Unemployed Women and Girls in Kawempe
Division
Project summary: By the end of this project, 200 unemployed and unskilled young
women and girls who have attained some level of education will be trained and

skilled with computer basics which will bridge the existing gender digital divide
and unemployment gap in Kawempe Division. IFU will link the trainees to various
job providers like companies, organizations, banks, NGOs and government; also, a
community ICT center will be established where women and girls will get the
facility of computer and Internet use.

Project Goal: To empower 200 disadvantaged unemployed young women and girls who
will get employment opportunities as skilled citizens through acquiring computer and
Internet training. Community women will have access to the ICT facility that will
empower them socially and economically.
Project Objective:
To Create employment opportunities for unemployed disadvantaged women through
providing skill training in computer/ICT and providing access to ICT facility in the
community to establish their social and economic empowerment.
Project Beneficiary:
Direct beneficiaries: 200 unemployed young women
Indirect beneficiaries: 200X5= 100 family members of direct beneficiaries
Job providers: 200 organizations
Activities: The project will provide skill training in computer, Internet and basic training
on gender issues and personal safety in workplace to unemployed young women and
girls aged between 17-30 and will provide job linkage with various job provider
organizations. Physically challenged (the disabled) persons from female headed
households will be given priority. ICT center will be established at community level for
easy access to computer and Internet use.
Long term impact: Through this project unemployed vulnerable women and girls will
be skilled in computer/Internet, ICT, gender issues and personal safety. They will be able
get jobs for personal and house hold income generation.
Sustainability Plan: The beneficiaries will be involved in project design which will
make them own the project thus easy to replicate the project or make it exist without
support or funding. There will be a revolving fund at the ICT Center through subsidized
payment for services like internet use, course advancing and certificate attainment.
