6.5 Cleaning schedule

6.5.1 General recommendation
All information relates to single-shift operation.
• Use predominantly alkaline foam cleaning agents.
• To remove mineral deposits such as lime scale, use acid foam
cleaning agents as required (at least once per week).

During the first week of use of new machines, only use acidic cleaning
agents.
Attention
After the first week, you can switch to the standard cleaning cycle (e.g. 3
x alkaline cleans and 2 x acidic cleans per week).

6.5.2 Chlorine-free alkaline cleaners

Perform cleaning as follows:
• Initial rinse with water to remove coarse dirt
• Apply foam to the surfaces to be cleaned using a 2-5% solution
of P3-topax 19 (alkaline) or 2-3% solution of P3-topax 56 (acid).
Leave on to take effect for 10 to 20 minutes
• Intermediate rinse with water at 40-60˚C
• Disinfect if desired and/or if required
• Rinse off with water at 40-60˚C

Use chlorine-free alkaline cleaning agents if at all possible, as there

6.5.5 Cleaners for belts

Conveyor belts are not resistant to aggressive and highly acidic concen-
trations such as agents containing alcohol or chlorine. The higher the acid
concentration of the cleaning agent, the stronger the reaction in the belt.
Typical features of incorrect use of cleaning agents and disinfectants can
include deformities (distortion), belt shrinkage, formation of cracks and
material brittleness.
Perform cleaning as follows:
• Initial rinse with cold water to remove coarse dirt
• Application of cold foam using a 2–5% solution of P3-topax 19 (alkali-
ne) or 2–3% solution of P3-topax 56 (acidic). Time required to take
effect: approx. 10 minutes
• Intermediate rinse with water at approx. 40°C
• Sterilisation with P3-tresolin ST, if required and/or necessary; cold,

artificial casing
Substitute for edition May 2013

This technical information is for choosing the appropriate casings for automatic
operation with LPG 209 – 213 – 214 or partly automatic operation with LPG 208,
FSL 210, FSL 211.

Following closing types are available:

OE  Open End
The casing is open at both sides.
- Open casings cannot be filled in automatic or partly automatic operation.

Knot
The casing is closed with a knot at one side.
- The knot must be located centrally.
- The end in front of the knot may not be longer than 5 mm.
- The knot must be arranged directly in front of the shirring.
- Machine- or manual knots can be used.

Manual knot

Attention:
Many machine knots are not located
centrally and too far from the casing
end. When entering the casing brake,
the knot will not be pushed through it
– this knot is generally unsuitable.

Machine knot

CE  Closed End (also named plug)

The casing is pulled out to a certain length and then it will be pushed
back again. For this, there are various processes. Each manufacturer
gives his closings different names. In some cases the plug will be
compressed subsequently.

- The plug must be located centrally in the casing.

Plug length
The plug length is the pushed back casing, which has been pulled out before.
This unshirred length should be min. 250 mm.
If this minimum length is dropped below, the sausage meat could drain or the sausage chain will
not start properly.

For measuring the plug length, push the plug out of the casing stick by means of a linking horn or
unshirr the closed end until the plug is visible.
- Measure from casing tip to the end of the plug  the plug length may not exceed 35 mm
for a safe operation with the LPG.

Casing tip Plug end

Unshirred plug length

Stick length
The stick length is the length of a shirred casing stick. In this case, the length of the unshirred
casing is irrelevant. The given information on the label in feet (ft) or meter (m) refers to the
unshirred length.
Each casing can be shirred to a different extend. A too heavy shirring may cause filling problems
as, for example, due to the resulting small inner diameter of the casing, a small pipe must be used
for an actually large caliber.

Packaging instructions
LPG208/209/213/214, FSL210/211, TI 208.13
CC215
Substitute for edition December 2011

Information on a correct transport lock / packaging for LPG 208/209/213/214 and FSL 210/211 and
CC 215
Utilities for a correct transport lock:
- 1 x 950 x 1950 mm t = 40mm pallet
- Squared timber 100 x 100 mm
- 2 x 60 x 40 mm squared timber (in machine length) for stabilizing crosswise at the LPG basement
- 4x hexagonal screw M10x360 DIN931 – A2 (040110505)
- 4x metal sheet 221990500

The attachments LPG 208/209/213/214, FSL 210/211 and CC 215 may only be transported when
mounted on a pallet.

Screw in height-adjustable rollers until limit stop machine basement.

The squared timbers have to be positioned in a way that the attachment cannot be moved lengthwise.
To stabilize lengthwise, the squared timbers must be connected crosswise (see illustration 1). The
number of squared timbers depends on the height of the base plate to the floor. The base plate of the
machine must lie on the squared timbers (the wheels must rotate freely above the pallet).

Illustration 1

V914000

The machine is fixed in the centre of the pallet by threaded rods M10 or rods with outer threads M10
on both sides. This requires that the pallet has a boring according to the distance of the M10 threaded
hole in the machine basement (see below drawing). Outer contour machine LPG 208= 1560x830.
