DATE: 20.12.2023
Dr. Madan A. Sendhil, Chairman of the Rathinam Group of Institutions, and R. Manickam,
Professor, CEO of the Rathinam College of Arts and Science along with Dr. K. Shivkumar,
Principal of the Rathinam Technical Campus lit the lamp to start the event.
Presidential address was given by Dr. Madan A. Sendhil, Chairman, Rathinam Group of
Institutions.
He began his address by greeting the Alumni Coordinators, who had assembled them at one
point. By expressing his experience in an institution where their alumni contact was given to
represent their brand, he specifically mentioned that alumni play a key part in shaping and
portraying an institution. He categorized our alumni into three groups: employed, jobless, and
entrepreneurs. He stated that all three of them might go into the institution for further
development and chances. On their request, he ensured skill training for employees in order
for them to get advanced in their careers. There are opportunities for the unemployed, and
they can contact the institution for employment.
The Rathinam Group of Institutions' Atal Incubation Center, created with a 10-crore
investment, is ready to mould our graduates into entrepreneurs. Their business concepts will
be refined by an Expert Committee of the Atal Incubation Center, and the incubation centre
will fund them and provide assistance in starting a new company.
Mr. Padmanaban Gopalan, one of the students, received the Commonwealth Youth Person of
the Year award for the Asia region in 2024 for his project "No Food Waste," was shared with
pride. Once again, he emphasized the importance of the Atal Incubation Center and the
prospects for alumni growth and development offered at the institution. He highlighted the
role of the alumni network and establishing their contacts with one another, which helps in
achieving greater heights. By sighting on the Vision & Mission of the Institution he
appreciated the departmental activities carried out to achieve the particular department’s
mission.
Following the Chairman, CEO R. Manickam emphasized the significance of the Atal
Incubation Center established our campus and encouraged alumni to seize the chance while it
is available. He also stated that becoming a businessman is no longer a Herculean effort, and
that it is easily accessible to our alumni by bringing their company proposals to Rathinam.
The alumni forum was available for participation, and they shared their memories. Mr.
Daniel, Civil Engineer, approached our chairman about a subcontract from Rathinam
Building Projects, and our chairman led him to the person in charge, Professor G. Arun
Kumar.
Another alumnus currently pursuing postgraduate studies at Sri Krishna Engineering College
inquired about alumni possibilities on the Rathinam Campus, which the Chairman assured
him of.
The CEO posed a question to the alumni regarding their awareness of the Rathinam Alumni
Website, the Alumni App Installation, and also the photos and details shred through those
ports. Only a few alumni were aware of the websites. He also inquired about the SMS sent to
the alumni regarding alumni websites, and there was a positive response from the crew.
From 2019 to 2023, two members from each batch were nominated as representatives for
their respective batches in order to channel the Alumni Association through effective
communication and networking.
A Secretary and a Joint Secretary were also elected for the entire Alumni Association.
The Head emphasised the importance of alumni in shaping an institution because they
represent the institution's face. Through their recommendations, he inquired about the
alumni's role and support for our institution's admission. He also invoked our institution's
branding through our query "Why Should I Visit Rathinam?" voiced by industries visiting
Rathinam. He embarked on his thoughts that engineers are innovators and that
entrepreneurship is nothing other than finding a solution to a problem. He also mentioned that
many companies are contacting passed out batches and urged them to make use of these
chances.
RTC students showcased their dancing skills in front of our alumni.Mr. Jegan, Capgemini,
Department of CSE, one of our alumni, proposed Vote of Thanks. He thanked all the faculty
members whose hard work and dedication made the event possible. He also thanked the
