The document describes the Jerneh B fixed offshore structure located off the coast of Terengganu, Malaysia. Some key details: - It is a tripod jacket substructure and integrated deck topside installed at a gas field by ExxonMobil at a water depth of 60m. - Fabrication was completed in October 2007 with a total weight of around 1,130 metric tons. - Calculations are provided for wave and current forces, wind forces, corrosion protection requirements, and fatigue analysis of selected structural members using spectral fatigue analysis methods. - The fatigue analysis involves dividing the site into height/period bands, calculating stress ranges, number of cycles, and using formulas to determine

Introduction
• The Jerneh B project was the first project undertaken by Brooke
Dockyard for ExxonMobil Exploration and Production Malaysia Inc

• A satellite gas field development of which a tripod jacket substructure

and integrated deck topside located at offshore Terengganu

• Overall tonnage weight for the fabrication work was around 1,130
metric tons
• The construction work for Jerneh-B Topsides and substructure started
on March 2006 and was successfully completed and loaded out on
the 31st October 2007.

• Jerneh is a producing conventional gas field located in shallow water

in Malaysia and the water depth of 197 feet (60m)
Calculation of wave, current & wind forces on
selected member
• Wave & Current
Evaluate the total horizontal force per m length due
to wave and current after a time of 8 s at the centre
of the immersed portion of a vertical cylindrical
member of diameter 1660 mm immersed 13 m in
water. Assume that the member is fouled and is at
a horizontal distance of +12m from the origin O.
Use the storm criteria for Erb West location. Take
mass density of sea water as 1025 kg/m3 .

Parameter from: Taha Nasseri et al ./ Study of Fixed

Offshore Platform’s Jacket in the Optimization
Design Process
Location of platform: Peninsular Malaysia (Offshore Terengganu)
Storm condition for Erb West location
i. Wave & Current

From PTS for Erb West:

Water depth, d: 62 m
H = 11.0 m
T = 9.0 sec
• Wind forces

Source: Taha Naseri

Corrosion Protection
Jacket Platform wells, W = 6 wells
Total surface area of piles and conductors from mudline to 30m below mudline, AP = 160 m2
Total surface area of jacket, caissons riser from MSL to mudline, AJ = 290 m2
Design Life, L = 30 years

• Establish Total Current Required

Total Current Required, I = 0.04 AJ + 0.025 AP + 5W
I = 0.04 (290) + 0.025 (160) + 5(6) = 45.6 A

• Establish Total Alloy Weight

Total Alloy Weight, M = (I * L * 8760) / (C*U)
M = (45.6* 30 * 8760) / (2500*0.9) = 5326.08 kg

• Establish Number of Anodes

Number of Anodes by Mass, Nm
Nm = M / Mt = 5326.08/356 = 14.96 =15

Number of Anodes by Current, Ni

Ni = I / It = 45.6 / 5.43 = 8.4 = 9
Select the maximum number of anodes = 15 Anodes
