5. If the man at B exerts a force of 𝑃 = 30 𝑙𝑏 on his rope, determine the magnitude of the force F
the man at C must exert to prevent the pole from rotating, i.e., so the resultant moment about A
of both forces is zero.
1. Determine the magnitude of the moment of the force 𝐹 = (300𝑖 − 200𝑗 + 150𝑘) 𝑁 about the
OA. axis.
2. Determine the magnitude of the moment of the 200-N force about the x axis. Solve the problem

4. The lug nut on the wheel of the automobile is to be removed using the wrench and applying the
vertical force of F = 30 N at A. Determine if this force is adequate, provided 14 N # m of torque

other direction, will it be possible to turn the nut?
5. The force of F = 30 N acts on the bracket as shown. Determine the moment of the force about
the a-a axis of the pipe if a = 60, b = 60, and g = 45. Also, determine the coordinate direction
angles of F in order to produce the maximum moment about the a-a axis. What is this moment?
1. Calculate the combined moment of the couple C and the force P about the axis AB. Usee = 60

– axis. If one of the forces (F1) is 50N in the +y – axis and another force (F2) is 100N in a
direction 45° below the +x – axis. Find the magnitude and direction of third Force (F3). (by Sir
Fabro, SI Edition)
13. A block is resting on an incline of slope 3:4. It is subjected to a force P = 350 N on a slope
of 5:12. Determine the x and y component of a force P and find the components of force P
