The Crucible Essay On John Proctor
The Crucible Essay On John Proctor
Crafting an essay on the character of John Proctor from "The Crucible" is both challenging and
rewarding. On one hand, Proctor is a complex and morally conflicted figure, making it intriguing to
delve into his psyche and motivations. However, this complexity also poses a difficulty as it requires
a thorough understanding of the character's nuances and a nuanced analysis of his actions
throughout the play.
The process involves not only summarizing Proctor's role but also interpreting his choices and
examining their implications within the broader context of the Salem witch trials. This requires a
deep dive into Arthur Miller's work, analyzing Proctor's relationships, internal struggles, and the
socio-political climate of the time.
Moreover, crafting a compelling essay on John Proctor necessitates a keen eye for literary devices,
symbolism, and thematic elements present in "The Crucible." Balancing textual evidence with critical
analysis is crucial, as it adds depth to the essay and strengthens the argument.
Furthermore, maintaining coherence and flow in the essay is essential. Transitioning between
different aspects of Proctor's character, weaving in relevant quotes, and providing insightful
commentary demand careful consideration.
Despite these challenges, the process of writing an essay on John Proctor is an intellectually
stimulating task. It not only hones one's analytical skills but also offers a chance to engage with
timeless themes of morality, justice, and individual integrity.

The Principle Of Separation Of Power
Our Founding Fathers were no strangers to the long standing care of a government.
Throughout history it has been proven over and over that when any one person is
allowed to obtain and stockpile power that he/she becomes the greatest threat to liberty. It
is no wonder that the most famous and treasured part of the Constitution, the separation
of powers, was molded over hundreds of years.
The idea of separation of power is not necessarily a new concept. As far back as 350
B.C. the Greek philosopher Aristotle made the observation in Politics that any
government whether it be monarchal, democratic, and etc. has three basic branches: the
deliberative, the magisterial, and the judicative. Today all three can be directly compared
to: legislative, executive, and judicial within our modern day governments. However,
while Aristotle asserted that all three were basic components to any and all governments,
he did not specify that they should be wielded by separate entities of said governments.
It would not be until centuries after Aristotle s death that his idea of the different
functions of government would be separated into different branches. It was the French
philosopher Baron de Montesquieu put forth the idea that these powers should be
separated, and no one person/branch should hold multiple powers. Of course while John
Locke had made the case for splitting the legislative and executive powers, it was
Montesquieu that gave our Founding Fathers the proof and/or backing for a

Title: Social Entrepreneurship: New Models of Sustainable Social Change by Alex
Nicholls
I.Introduction
Over the course of a few centuries, industrialization has taken over and technology has
been very adamant in the society. Although proven helpful, these advancements left us to
confront an uncertain future because of the threats of environmental and economic
collapse, over population, terrorism, and diseases that was brought about by these new
equipment and machines that due to irresponsible handling led to worse effects. There
have been efforts by our governments and institutions that have tried to battle these
problems but were just proven inadequate. The greatest irony in the world we are in right
now is we have solutions to the current situation but these solutions often lead to worse
problems. This is where social entrepreneurship comes in. ... Show more content on

This is Skoll Foundation, which aims to promote the advancement of social
entrepreneurship worldwide. The research and lessons from practice by the top social
entrepreneurs and scholars have been compiled and it exemplifies the centre s aim to
produce work that both engages in theory and is also valuable to practitioners in the field.
During this time, social entrepreneurship has been viewed to be an exciting and emergent
set of models for the good change the world seeks. The problem here was it was often
misunderstood and poorly defined that s why it was weak and often viewed as a threat to
a stable and established organizations. Three important themes emerged to better
understand and explain social entrepreneurship. These are: the new start ups and existing
organizations going to scale, the mainstreaming organizations, and the organizations with
changing research agendas. In the next discussion, the differences among these three are
explained profoundly in the next
Comparison Of Poverty And Gordon Parks Flavio s Home
Jo Parker writing What is Poverty? and Gordon Parks writing Flavio s Home are both
stories about the dangers of poverty. I feel both authors did a very good job describing
the horrors of living in poverty. Both authors show in their writing the dangers of
poverty from food being scarce, disease, to having no money for health needs. Even
though there were several similarities in the stories, I believe that the difference life
styles of living in povertyshows the main purpose of both stories.
Both authors began their story on how living in a poverty neighborhood consisted of
smelling sewage, urine, feces and garbage that collected in the roads. Parker describes
how Poverty is living in a smell that never leaves (209). Parks also wrote how he found a
young kid named Flavio who lived in a favela outside Rio de Janeiro living in poverty.
Parks wrote how the favela had Garbage and human excrement clogged the open sewers
snaking down the slopes. (214)
Houses are of course located in the middle of all the garbage and sewage in the streets in
both stories and Parker and Parks wrote. The houses were ... Show more content on

One difference being the when Parker wrote about poverty, she wrote it in first person,
meaning she was the one who lived the story and poverty. When reading Parks story,
Parks writes about someone else living in poverty and the effects on that person or
people s lives.
Another difference I saw was how poverty ruined the marriage of Parker. Parker writes
how when she was married, that her family had a house but her husband ended up losing
his job. This put a lot of stress on the family where eventually the husband left (Parker
211). Parks write how the mother and father come home at night while Flavio is helping
with getting supper and the fire ready. Even though the family lives in a poverty stricken
community, the mother and father were still together (Parks
Visual Signs Of The Advertisement
Living in a world that is increasing in visual signs in advertisements, it is important to
note what they mean and the effect it has on us. Human beings are homo significans
meaning that we are meaning makers, one reason being that we unconsciously
interpret signs by relating them to familiar structural convention. As advertisers are
dependent on different conventions like fine art, photography, music, cultural codes
and literary tropes, they combine signifiers and signified in order to give specific
meanings to their commodities and achieve commercial value (Goldman Papson
1996) This essay will analyse the advert in semiotic terms, discussing in detail the
different signifiers used for interpretations. I have chosen a dentistry advert for Walter
Moretto. the copy, I saw that there is more to the advert. This misunderstanding
sparked my interest to know more and the simplicity yet great appeal of the advert
pulled me in and I decided to discover what made me a victim of it. The advert; Time is
Up for Bacteria and Plaque shows a man that can be identified as the Grim Reaper
holding a dental floss pick instead of a scythe a Reaper is accustomed to. At the bottom
of the ad, there is a name; Dr. Med. Dent. Walter Moretto who is identified as a dental
hygienist and his web address; www.waltermoretto.ch is placed below. The order of the
individual elements shows their relation to each other. The information on the advert tells

Islamic Industry Continues to Grow
The Islamic finance industry continues to grow following continued internationalisation
efforts. Last year s growth was an impressive 16.5%, accounting for 25.7% of total assets
in the banking system. The foreign currency business also grew with assets amounting to
RM 18.1 billion in 2013.
Meanwhile in the takaful sector, total assets of takaful funds grew by 10% to RM20.9
billion, while total takaful contributions accounted for 14% of total premiums in the
industry. To increase the potential return to contributors, takaful operators were allowed
to invest abroad any amount of investment linked funds of resident clients. This is an
increase from the previous limit of 50% of net asset value.

To comply with liquidity requirements, the sukuk has been accorded regulatory
recognitionas a liquid asset and a low risk credit under the capital adequacy framework
applicable to banking institutions.
To increase the investor base of foreign sukuk, the government issued an inaugural GII
of RM 4 billion in July 2013 based on the murabahah concept. This was intended to
replace the bai inah concept which was used earlier. Under the new concept, the
contract is a certificate of debt for a deferred sale transaction of an asset based on Shari
ah principles. It is hoped this concept will attract more domestic and international
investors and increase the value of Malaysia s sukuk market. Fortunately it did when the
issuance was over subscripted by nearly three times.
On 1 August 2013, the Prime Minister unveiled the Malaysia International Islamic

Merger Between Staples And Office Depot
Proposed Merger between Staples and Office Depot Leads to Concerns of Higher Prices
The effect and impact of corporate mergers of companies can be a significant change
for the company s prosperity and growth as well as the consumer s point of view also.
Though few of the mergers and acquisitions might be helpful for the company and be
profitable as well there are always few risks and failures that come with the process.
According to a study the company has only 50% chance of success when it comes to
merger and acquisition. But still very big companies do the merger because they can
become bigger by combing with their competitors and end their competition. But
sometimes these mergers are expected to create a monopoly in the sector because they
will dominate the whole sector and cause a biased decision for the customers. This case
talks about the merger between two of the biggest office supplies companies Staples and
Office Depot. Through this case we will discuss on the merger between the two big
companies created a tension of monopoly and whether or not it will be profitable for
both sides of the merger. This Mega Merger created a sense of stress in the Federal Trade
Commission (FTC) also forcing it to file a case against both the parties for creating a
monopoly in the business. If we look at this case in the view of a Firm Manager we can
clearly identify the rights and the wrong in the case and effectively point of out how it
is going to be a failure of success by
