NARRATIVE REPORT ON FILIPINO VALUES MONTH 2021


Introduction
Filipino Values is defined by the way of people live their life as an influence of one’s culture. Philippines,
having been an archipelago, have not become a hindrance towards having a single values system
throughout the country. In whatever part of the country you may be, one will find the same hospitality that
the Filipinos are known for as well as many other values that have originated from our forefathers. The
values of Filipinos have been looked upon by foreigners as a weakness instead of strength due to the
nature of how they may be abused and manipulated due to these values. But values are what make up a
certain nation both in growth and unity. Some may see that Filipino values as a hindrance to the growth of
the country and yet others may say that his is what makes our country powerful. The Department of
Education (DepEd) joins the entire nation in the 2019 National Observance of the Filipino Values Month
(FVM) pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 479 dated October 7, 1994 titled Declaring the Month of
November of Every Year as Filipino Values Month. It aims to mobilize all Filipinos for nation building
through the practical exercise of human values in our daily lives as citizens and to awaken all to the power
of these values in achieving the individual and national goals. It emphasizes the importance and critical role
of the family in strengthening Filipino values and developing individuals who are pro-God, pro-people, pro-
country, and pro-nature especially in this digital age.
II. School Activities:
In line with the campaign of the Department of Education (DepEd) under DepEd Memorandum No. 16,
s.2019 Carmen Integrated School conducted Filipino Values Month Celebration with the theme
“Pagpapaunlad ng Pagkatao, Pakikipagkapwa at Pananampalataya : Hamon sa Panahon ng Pandemya
On November 8, 2021 the advisers informed their students through group chat , that there will be a contest
in poster and slogan making and by November 15, 2021 their output will submitted.. November 22 is the
awarding of certificates to the winners in slogan and poster-making contest was done. The activities were
meaningful and enjoyable to everyone. It was smoothly and successfully done.Attached herewith are
pictures during the said activity.
