experience.
These persons must be sufficiently qualified and authorised, have been instructed by the
operator and have been provided with the hazard and safety information.
Qualified persons within the meaning of these Operating Instructions are persons:
who are over 14 years of age,
who, because of their training, experience, instruction and knowledge of the relevant

who have read and who observe the Operating Instructions (or the part applicable to
the work to be carried out).
The cleaning and disinfection machine operates with hot water and the temperature in the
wash chamber during the thermal disinfection exceeds 80°C (or at a higher temperature if
so determined by the customer). There exists therefore the danger of scalding! This
means also that the utensils which are cleaned and that parts of the wash chamber and
wash chamber door are at a high temperature after the disinfection process.
Corresponding precautions must be taken.
Warning !
Do not open any cover of the electrical or electronic systems of the cleaning and
disinfection machine or of any electrical operating system.
IMPORTANT

The cleaning and disinfection machine is for the emptying, cleaning and disinfection of:
Bedpans

The care utensils must be inserted into the correct position in the utensil holder on the
open wash chamber door. By closing the door, the utensil holder is turned to a vertical
position and the utensils are emptied. After pressing a program key, the cleaning and
disinfection process starts.
The wash chamber door is locked and only released when the chosen program has
finished correctly.
During the program cycle the care utensils are first rinsed with cold water and then they
are cleaned with hot water. The wash nozzles are positioned in such a way that perfect
cleaning is guaranteed provided that the utensils have been positioned correctly.
After the cleaning cycle is over, the care utensils are disinfected.
The thermal disinfection process involves heating the care utensils until they are
disinfected to a pre-set A0 value. Optionally, you may set up programs that perform a
heat exchange with hot water after disinfection.
At the end of the program the wash chamber door is unlocked. The items can now be
taken out.
The care utensils, parts of the wash-chamber and the wash-chamber door are still at a
high temperature. Appropriate protective measures must be observed.
The indicator lamp of the selected key is illuminated while the program is running. The
sequence of the individual program steps is shown in the chapter ”Operating
Information“. Once the heating phase has started, the A0 value is displayed on the
operating field and remains there until the end of the program.

In the case of warnings, the operator must carry out the measure indicated in the table.
If you ignore a warning, this will lead to an unnecessary operational problems and
breakdown of the appliance. As soon as the measure indicated has been completed, the
warning in the display disappears.

12 Dosing agent
Use safety glasses/goggles and protective gloves.
Always wear safety glasses or goggles when working on the dosing system.
Only use dosing agents for cleaning, water softening or rinsing which have been
approved in writing by MEIKO for use in MEIKO cleaning and disinfection machines.
Approved products: Rinse /water softening agent: Doyen SK22E
Detergent: no product specified
Detergent and disinfectants can endanger health if they are not used
for the purpose intended. The manufacturer’s instructions on the
original packaging and the technical data sheets must be observed.
(This applies to all other products which are not named here.)
13 Care
The cleaning and disinfection machine is designed to minimize cleaning and care
requirements. However, in the interest of hygiene and cleanliness, it is absolutely
necessary to clean the complete appliance carefully.
Only suitable products must be used for cleaning stainless steel surfaces.
They must not attack the metal, form any deposits and cause discoloration.
Do not use a high-pressure cleaner or a hose to clean the cleaning and disinfection
machine.
The seal on the wash-chamber door can be cleaned with soap and water.
Cleaning agents containing oil must not come into contact with the seal on the wash-
chamber door.
14 Corrosion signs
The appliance is made from high-quality stainless steel. Nevertheless, under special
circumstances, corrosion may occur. Please observe the following points:
Ensure that no iron or steel particles enter the appliance from the local fresh water
supply pipes. The same applies to other metal particles such as copper
filings/turnings.
Signs of corrosion may occur if unsuitable detergents are used.
15 Staff training
Only properly trained and instructed personnel are allowed to work on the cleaning and
disinfection machine. Staff responsibilities for the installation’s operation, maintenance
and repair must be clearly defined.
Any person undergoing training must only be allowed to work on the cleaning and
disinfection machine machine under the supervision of an experienced person.
Remove the hose clamp and the stainless steel plug from the pressure line branch, and
empty the washing pump. Use a small funnel with a hose to securely drain the remaining
water. Secure the stainless steel plug and the hose clamp at the pressure line branch.
Release the hose clamp and pull the drain hose from the top of the low-pressure
evaporator. The residual water can be let off into the open washing chamber. Caution!
There is a risk of scalding with hot water. Reinstall the hose on the low-pressure
evaporator and secure the hose clamp.
18 Non-ionizing radiation
Non-ionizing radiation is not produced intentionally but unfortunately comes about due to electrical operating
equipment (e.g. electrical motors, high-voltage cables and magnetic coils). In addition the machine has no
strong permanent magnet. There is a high possibility of eliminating the influence of active implants (e.g.
pacers, defibrillators) by maintaining a safety distance of 30 cm (distance of the field source to the implant).
19 Technical Data
Protection class TOPIC 10.2/20.2/40.2: IP X4
Installation Max. altitude 2000 m, 5-40°C, 80% humidity, only for indoor
use
Fresh water connection Air gap type AA according to DIN 1988/DIN-EN 1717
Local water supply DN 15, cold water 5-25°C, warm water 45-60°C
Water flow pressure 100 kPa to max. 500 kPa, before the solenoid valve
20 Maintenance
The message “MAINTENANCE NECESSARY” appears in the display when the cleaning
and disinfection machine has completed a pre-set number of cleaning cycles. The
standard setting is 5000 cycles.
Maintenance is necessary after 5000 cycles or at intervals of not longer than one year.
The operator has also the possibility of concluding a maintenance contract with a
MEIKO representative.
Thus, regular and duly maintenance is guaranteed at all times.
