1. OBJECTIVE
2. RECOMMENDED CHANGES
6.1.1 Except as provided below, the Drawings, Specifications, and other two-
dimensional documents prepared by the architect for this Project are instruments
of the Architect’s service for use solely with respect to this project and, unless
otherwise provided, the architect shall be deemed the author of these documents
and shall retain all common law, statutory and other reserved rights, including the
copyright. The Owner shall be permitted to retain copies, including reproducible
copies, of the Architect’s Drawings, Specification, and other two-dimensional
documents, and CAD drawings for information and reference in connection with
the Owner’s use and occupancy for the Project. The Owner’s use of the Project
shall include, but not be limited to, comprehensive campus-wide mapping
endeavors. Such two-dimensio nal documents shall not be used by the Owner on
other projects or extensions to the Project except by agreement in writing and
with appropriate compensation to the Architect.
9. Either 3.5 high density diskettes or compact disk, properly labeled and formatted,
containing CAD drawing files of the record drawings. These files shall include
all record drawings for which the architect possesses corresponding CAD
drawings and shall at least include the following architectural record drawings:
floor plans, exterior elevations, building sections, site plans, mechanical,
plumbing, electrical drawings, etc., and are to include any fonts used outside of
standard AutoCAD fonts, and XREFS are to be bound to original drawing file if
used. Files must be in either AutoCAD Release 2000 or higher. Compression
software such as WinZIP may be used, and all executables of said software will
be provided to the Owner. The AIA Cad Layer Guidelines as detailed in the
University of Delaware Facilities Planning & Construction Guidelines and
Definitions for CAD Projects shall dictate the layer naming conventions unless
otherwise stated in individual project specifications. It shall be understood that
the CAD drawings themselves are not record drawings. If the Architect is unable
to comply with this provision, arrangements need to be made for generating
vector-based computer drawings prior to executing this agreement. The Architect
should contact the Project Coordinator designated for the project to make such
arrangements.
10. One set of CAD drawings plotted on Mylar or bond shall be submitted with the
diskettes. These plots shall be regarded as record drawings.
