This article explains how to choose the right electrical wire size, MCB and wire for a residential
commercial building.

What is MCB?
A miniature circuit breaker (MCB) automatically switches off the electrical circuit in the event of an
abnormal overload or short circuit of the power network. Currently, MCBs are used for low voltage (230 V,
110 V) electrical branch circuits instead of fuses.
Cable and MCB Current Rating
You can see the wire gauge and the ampere of MCB by looking at the chart below. MCB and wire are
selected based on a number of factors. In this chart the wire is selected in mm square.
