 Files: Transfergame.exe, dimm_fw_402.bin
 Crossover cable or two network cables and a router
 Netboot Security PIC

This guide is a step by step guide on how to update your Net Dimm board to version 4.02. You must have a Net DIMM
Board in order to update to version 4.02, a Plain Dimm cannot be updated beyond version 3.17.

STEP 1. Remove the cover plate on top of the NET DIMM. There are three screws to remove and one you only have to

Loosen.
STEP 2. Insert the security PIC chip. Make sure you install the chip with the notch facing the correct direction as shown
in the picture below.
STEP 4. Change the Jumpers to network mode. There are three jumpers next the the SCSI connector labeled JP1, JP2,

and JP3. Set JP1 & JP2 to 1-2, and JP3 to 2-3 as shown below.
STEP 5. Install the Net Dimm into your Naomi 1 or 2. Make sure it is seated all the way, also apply pressure to the top
PCB inside the Net DIMM to make sure it is seated inside the Net DIMM. You should get a screen that says “Checking
Network” (you might also get” Error 34 Gateway not Found”).

Press the Test Button to enter the Test Menu, you will probably have more than one place to press test. Some cabs
have the test button inside the coin door. There is also a test button on the side of the Naomi labeled PSW1. This will
take you to the test menu. Use the Test button again to scroll down to NETWORK SETTINGS, then press the Service
Button (PSW2 on side of Naomi, or inside coin door possibly).
STEP 6. Change the Network Type to “ETHER”. The select SET IP ADDRESS.

Set the IP Address to 192.168.10.2 the press the Service Button on the SET option, you should have the IP address listed
at the bottom after you select SET. Then set the NET MASK to 255.255.255.0 then select SET.

Select Exit then turn off your system. Then Turn it back on to allow the new settings to take place.
STEP 7. Setting up your PC.

Depending on the version of windows you are using this may be a little different. You are going to be changing your
TCP/IP settings to connect with the Net DIMM. You need to get to the Network Settings page in windows. In most
versions of windows you can get there by clicking on the windows button(START) at the bottom of the screen then:

Click on CONTROL PANELNETWORK CONNECTIONSRight Click on LOCAL AREA CONNECTIONPROPERTIES

Then scroll down to Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) then choose the Properties Box . (Take note of what your settings are so
you can put them back after you do the update) Choose “Use the following IP address” then enter the IP address as
192.168.10.1, and the Subnet Mask as 255.255.255.0, then Defualt Gateway as 192.168.10 as shown below. Then click
OK, then OK again. Then restart your computer.
STEP 8. Connect a network Crossover cable to the Net DIMM and the other end to the PC Ethernet port. You can also
use two pieces of normal Cat5 or Cat6 network cable and have a router in between them. Once your connected you can
test your connection by clicking on the windows button (START) then typing CMD and press enter. You should bring up
a DOS window. Type PING 192.168.10.2 and then press enter. You should get no errors just like the picture below.

Now you need to get the following files:

 Transfergame.exe
 Dim_fw_402.bin

Copy these files to your desktop so that they are in the current directory that DOS starts in as shown above.

Then type: Transfergame.exe 192.168.10.2 dimm_fw_402.bin then press enter. You should get a screen like the one
below, as it sends the data to the Naomi the Naomi will restart itself. Then reboot to a blue screen.
STEP 9.

Press the Test button to begin the update.

Once the update is complete. Turn off your machine and disconnect the network cable.
If you are going to be using the SummittArcade Naomi CF Drive, then you must change the jumpers back to the GDROM
mode. Change JP1 & JP2 to 2-3, and then JP3 to 1-2 as shown below.

Replace the metal cover, then connect the CF drive to the original GDROM SCSI cable and Power cord.

If you do not have a SCSI cable or power cord, you can buy them from www.summittarcde.com
