At the end of the lesson, we should be able to:
1. Identify what an animation is.
2. Identify the four types of animation.
3. Animate text and objects in a slide.

Let’s Ask Ourselves

 What is an animation?
 What are the four types of animation?
 How do we animate text and objects in a slide?

Let’s Discover
Animation
Animation refers to the movement of the text and objects in the slides of a presentation. By using an
animation, a specific content of the slide can catch the attention of the audience.
Types of Animation
There are four types of animation that we can use for the content of our slide presentation.
These are the following:
1. Entrance shows how the object will enter the slide.

2. Emphasis happens while the object is on the slide.

3. Exit shows how the object will exit from the slide.
4. Motion Paths is like the Emphasis effect but the movement of the object on the slide follows a
specific path.

To apply an animation to an object:

1. Select the object you want to animate.
2. On the Animations tab, click the More drop-down arrow in the Animation group.

3. A drop-down menu of animation effects will appear. Select the desired effect.
